“Deeply Dissappointed”

Had I not paid in advance, I would have left this hotel the moment I pulled up to the location. There was not a "check-in". You had to enter via the restaurant. The staff was friendly but when I got into the room, literally, it smelled of mildew. The toilet was unclean and the shower had spots of mildew. There was a closet that was unusable, it held two twin beds and what looked like an air conditioner. The window shade was torn allowing a stream of sunlight in the room. A dead bug laid by the side table. The security of the door was a bolt lock only seen from the inside of the room. The bedspread smelled and made me itch whenever my skin touched it directly. Thank goodness the sheets were stark white and were clean. The dresser drawer handle was broken and the flat screen tv mounted on the wall only contained one channel. I was trying to be frugal and boy I get far less than what I paid for. I stayed here for two days and remained out for most of the days so that I could come back into the room and crash, without thinking about what the room lacked. One good thing was that the internet connectivity worked. I used the wi-fi as my means of tv, otherwise, it would have sucked even worse. Positives: The staff, the one time I saw them, during check-in, they seemed friendly enough. The location was somewhat in a secluded neighborhood off the beaten path. I would not recommend this, especially to anyone staying over 1 night and alone. I got through this stay, but never again.

“Union Canal House in April 2011”

My husband and I went to Hershey in April to see a concert and stayed at the Union Canal House. We found it to be a big disappointment. While it is located only a few minutes away from Hershey Park, the room was musty smelling and needed updating badly. I wouldn't walk around without shoes on in the room. The carpet was stained and the bathroom looked like it hadn't been touch since the 60's. The walls are also paper thin. We heard the people next to us for half the night. The bed sloped down in the middle and my husband and I had to fight not to continuously roll into one another. The only time we saw anyone that worked there was when we checked in. There was no personalization, just here's your key and see you later. They do not have any type of breakfast in the morning. Personally, I would spend the extra money next time to stay somewhere else.

“Not Impressed at all...”

When we got there it was confusing because it was a restaurant where you checked in. Then for some reason we didn't get the room I booked it was a DOWN grade... the room was small, carpet had stains I was scared to walk around barefooted, the tub was rusted I didn't even take a shower when I was there waited till I got home... We went to the restaurant down stairs for my Birthday dinner and I got way over cooked Duck couldn't even eat it for 30 bucks... Was not happy at all but I had to remind myself it would always be worse I guess.
