Wyndham visit for Hershey vacation

Posted Jul 16, 2014
I selected this hotel based on the brand name and felt confident from the photos that the choice I made was a good one. From the exterior, it was clear that the hotel is in dire need of updating. Inside the hotel- the carpet was dated, walls dirty and badly in need of a refresh ( we were on the 6 the floor). As for our room, it was clean, however the double beds are on the small side, the floors filthy and beds uncomfortable. I would not stay at a Wyndham in the future.

Upon arrival. First room air conditioner wasn't working. Had to move to a different room. Hotel cooks use some fixing up and major paint jobs

Attention to detail

Posted Jul 12, 2014
Pros: Not much.
Cons: Renovate. Set up a breakfast bar. Train the housekeeping staff to pay attention to details.
Location: Poor location. Spent hours trying to find a good place for a breakfast take out with good coffee. Could not find any place to buy a bottle of wine.
Way too long to check in. Line backed up. Only one staff memeber at check in desk. Slow. Batteries in the TV remote dead. No remote. AC unit sounds like a freight train. Room service did not replace anything on the 2nd day, such as paper coffee cups, shave cream, shampoo, soap, etc. Coffee machine did not work very well. Leaked water. No place to plug it in. Only 1 coffee serving supplied, with 2 people staying in the room. Overall, hotel is aged and tired looking. No free coffee in the morning. Had to pay for everything

Poor Housekeeping

Posted Jul 7, 2014
The housekeeping never cleaned our rooms stuck a Do Not Disturb outside and said that's why they didn't clean the room. Meanwhile our Do not Disturb was in our room . I am very frequent traveler this was the first time this happened. ,Very disappointing...............

Pros: The location was good
Cons: Update, update, update.
Location: Stayed there to go to Hershey Park - close enough drive. About 10 minutes.
The room was old in appearance. The drapes were ripped, the toilet didn't flush, even after repair, the tub didn't drain from a shower.... The beds were old and saggy, and we could not get a cot. Also, not a clock in the room at all and minimal television channels - unless you paid. Although we had four people in the room, we only got two sets of towels. And when they came and made the beds after the second day, they left all the throw pillows on the floor. No incentives, like free breakfast and the café was a little pricey. The ice machine was broken and not fixed in the 2 days I was there. I was amazed since I booked based on the Wyndham name. I thought I was going to be in a much nicer room. I would not stay here again.

Smoker next to me.

Posted Jun 19, 2014
The staff was most accommodating in moving me to another room because of a smoker ( a NO SMOKING hotel) in the room next to me.....the problem was, I had to wait for them to clean a room at 10:00pm. The first room they moved me to reeked of mildew, so I waited again for another room to be cleaned, then moved to that. I had had a very long, grueling day, with another to follow, and just wanted to sleep by 8:30pm. That did not happen. It was 11pm until I was finally in a room. The staff did everything they could, but is was obvious that the hotel was understaffed...even when we checked in at 5pm, we had to wait for rooms to be ready for occupancy. I would like my money back, but have no idea how to go about it because of booking with you rather than directly with the hotel chain.

Hotel needs maintenance

Posted Jun 17, 2014
The hotel seems to have been nice at one time. It is in need of some serious maintenance now. Our one light was unplugged. When we plugged it in it made a sizzling sound. Chair in room was all torn up. Elevators and walls were all scraped up. The place just looked very worn down.

Don't stay here. Trust me.

Pros: Nothing.
Cons: The staff, the cleanliness, the quality of items in the room, the sound proofing of the rooms. A major overhaul of the place would be helpful.
We stayed 2 nights as it was rated a 3 star hotel. We were disappointed with the room as well as the overall appearance of the hotel. From shabby furniture in the lobby, a very dirty elevator with scraped paint, to ripped wall paper throughout. It only got worst in our room. The deadbolt did not work on our door. One of the beds had soiled sheets. We were left with 2 bath towels, 1 washcloth and 1 hand towel for 3 people. It advertised a micro and fridge in the room. There was an empty stand were the items should have been, with a dirty tray and 2 paper cups I am assuming were for the coffee. The coffee maker in the bathroom was in poor condition and dirty. The toiletries were of subpar quality (always travel with my own anyway, but for those who don't). The worse part of the room was the poor sound barrier. We could hear people speaking so clearly from the room above us that is was like they were actually in the room. I have never experienced anything like it, and I have stayed in many hotels. Very little sleep with hearing people not only flushing toilets, but actually using them. Wyndham should check this location out and possibly consider major renovations or closing it. The staff were also unhelpful, my husband searched our floor for ice, went to the lobby on the first floor and was told there was ice on the 1st and 6th floors without any direction. When he again were he could get ice, the person relectantly gave him a bag from behind the desk. Bad.
