“Not impressed”

This hotel needs a serious upgrade. The carpet is worn & appears to be in the 1970s era. The room did not have a microwave, refrigerator or safe which are in most all upgraded hotels When we proceeded to enter our room, the keycard opened the door bit the security lock was intact so the door could not be opened .I called the front desk from my cell phone, I was told I would need to return to the lobby. I had to leave my mother with all our luggage alone in the hallway. The employee then walked me back to our room, slammed the door which did not disengage the security lock. He opened it with his knife which was scary to me as it showed me I was not very safe in that room. I had to ask him to check the room to assure no one was in the room as the security lock was engaged. There was no complimentary breakfast which is also an amenity featured in most hotels these days. For the money and lack of amenities, I could have easily stayed at Comfort Inn, Best Western or Hampton Inn which were all cheaper & included mentioned amenities. I had family members in the mentioned hotels nearby & theirs were all better than Holiday Inn.

“OK for our purposes”

Getting in and out of this hotel from the main road was strange and could be somewhat dangerous - just a funky intersection. But for our purposes - there for Family Weekend at JMU - it was fine. They were very helpful in getting us a cot when our needs changed at the last minute. We did get the ADA-ready room but that just meant a larger bathroom. It was located right off of the indoor pool area which would have been bad had there been people using the pool...fortunately there were very few and they were out there early enough that it didn't bother us for sleeping. It was clean enough. I'm weird about hotel bedspreads even at the best hotels so the strange substance dried on ours didn't bother me too much as the first thing I do is toss the spread. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were satisfactory - they gave us extras when we asked. Overall I'd probably recommend but I'll stay elsewhere if in Harrisonburg again just to avoid the problem of getting in and out.

“Holiday Inn Harrisonburg”

Room was dank and dark, no windows, just a slider to an indoor pool area. Door could not fully close. Hotel smelled of chlorine, and was noisy. This place is pretty old and run down. Service was good though, and the staff was friendly.

“5-star quality in a cute little town”

Definitely THE hotel to stay in if you are in Harrisonburg.

“OK”

While our room was very nice - comfortable and clean - the soundproofing left a lot to be desired. We could hear people talking in the next room, walking in the hall and doors slamming all through the night. Also, we were given the impression that a continental breakfast was included, but instead we found a full-service, sit-down restaurant that was not "complementary". We were very satisfied with the convenient location to restaurants, shopping and the university - which was the reason we were there.

“Not Great”

Old place with very friendly staff. Big turnoff was the bathroom tile molding. It has not been washed since the place was built. It would take hours to clean. Bed and pillows very good and staff very pleasant ant helpful. Not the worst place.

People we very nice. Old rooms with a facelift. No microwave/fridge in room. Kind od dindgy. Would not reccomend.

Convinent and comfortable. Would like to see/have a breakfast bar.
