“Hotel Du Parc, Mulhouse”
Stayed here late September 2007 and was annoyed at a number of things. Firstly, the room was at about 30deg C when we arrived. 'No problem' I thought as I attempted to reduce the temperature on the aircon control. Unfortunately, as I used the controls the screen went blank. I explained this to reception staff, but was told that there was no way to control the air conditioning for individual rooms as there was a master control for the whole building. If they turned it down for us, they'd be turning it down for the whole hotel. Come on - this is the 21st century and this is a 4* hotel!! The hotel advertises "76 Rooms..personalised and air-conditioned" This seems misleading. Bathroom tiles were stained and looked old (not in a quaint, olde worlde way), wi-fi was very expensive, the room didn't have spare bedding/pillows (pillows were all but totally flat) and there was no iron/ironing board. Good things were that they let me park my car outside the front door for the duration of our stay (it was too low to get into the underground garage due tovery steep ramps.(I chose the hotel because of the secure parking) Room service was very good - we had a problem with the TV and they sorted it out in 10 mins. Food via room service was great and reasonably priced. However, I wouldn't recommend this hotel on the grounds that some staff were not very helpful, the bed was uncomfortable and the room lacked factilites. This is a shame as the first impression of the hotel was very good.
