Nice surroundings but overall very average

Posted Jul 3, 2014 on Hotels.com
The location and setting is good and whilst the rooms are a little unconventional (Basically barns out of the back of the main building), they are clean and well presented. It is a bit of a strange set up overall but my biggest issue was that the shower did not work properly and provided a cold shower in the morning which is a big negative for me. The member of staff I met and told afterwards was very apologetic but when you are paying the prices you are, you don't expect an electric shower to start with and certainly not a faulty one. I wouldn't return following my experience.

Pros: staff or owner not honest not helpful
Cons: no phone in the hotel and i was requested to pay the stay twice
there was no phone in the room and when I received pnone calls from my family the reception hang up the call.I was told also to pay my two nights stay even though I had already paid the fees to expedia and I had confirmation this is why I CANCELLED MY STAY FOR THE SECOND day EVEN SO IT WAS ALREADY Paid AND BOOKED WITH ANOTHER HOTEL .

A hotel gem in a lovely peaceful setting

Posted Oct 2, 2011 on Hotels.com
Lovely peaceful location, faultless rooms with excellent comfy beds/linen, good showers, large TV, fast Wi-Fi and very nice touches such as complementary water/wine. All the staff are excellent in providing a very warm welcome, great breakfast, evening meals and spotless housekeeping. Will certainly stay again when in the area and would highly recommend.
