“Great stay, too little time”
My wife & I thoroughly enjoyed Aaron's Cottage. The owners greeted us as we pulled into the driveway and showed us where our room was, giving us a fairly thorough tour of the grounds (fairly small place, so it didn't take too long) and explaining how breakfast worked. It was a great experience; I just wish we'd had longer to stay there. It's definitely a great place to rest & relax!
“YUKI”
I think this is pearfect BandB. Becouse Owner could make nice break fast and we coud see so many stars in big yard. Owners every morning took Good greeting [Good Morning!] We defenery will go back them.
“All I could ask for.”
Personable host. Good tips for activities. Good food. Clean rooms.
“Great bargin”
Friendly helpful owners, great landscaping, good continental breakfasts, 2 blocks from the ocean beach where I saw whales and fishermen
“NIce B&B for the Price!”
Bigger than most motel rooms! Bed was comfy! Like the separate area for kitchen just outside.
“I will be staying there on my next visit”
I love this place, quiet (except for some construction down the street which was not the fault of the hotel and not bothersome at all) and great area to be in, I had a fantastic time and will be staying there again on my next visit! The rooms was simple and clean, perfect for a quiet and relaxing stay, I wish I had stayed there longer then I did on this trip, I was in Hawaii for 16 days but only stayed here for 2 nights, next trip it will be my main hotel. The owners and other guests were friendly and the neighborhood was fantastic to walk through as you go to the beach.
“Alright”
It was a nice clean room, but 1 night was enough. Alan, the owner was lovely and very accomodating.
“Nice Touch of Hilo”
Aaron's is a nice little cottage with 3 units. The staff goes out of their way to be helpful and to make you feel welcome. Any shortcomings one might feel about the cottage are typical of any Hilo location: It is a very wet/moist area, so mildew and dampness are to be expected. There is wildlife of all types everywhere, so there will be noises through the night. If you are aware of those things before visiting Hilo, you will have a nice stay.
“Not what I had expected”
First of all I have to say, if you are thinking of staying in Hilo, don't. There's very little of interest to toursists here. Kona is far more lively, doesn't get the rain, and all the excursions go from the Kona area. I feel I made a big mistake staying in Hilo. You will definitely require a car if you stay here. The room was decent enough, and a large size. The owners put out fruit, cereals and milk in the morning. Biggest disappointment, no one changed the towels the entire stay. So I had to ask for fresh towels, coffee, creamer etc.
“Disappointed”
Aaron's Cottage shows up quite nicely on Expedia web site. We thought it looked good and a change staying in a B&B. The people are very nice and friendly and try very hard, however the cleanliness of our room was terrible. So much dust around. Also there isn't any privacy between the other rooms. Outside our window, which was above our bedhead was the washing machine. It would go into the late hours of the night and also the aircons from the other rooms were very loud and one was next to our front door. The common room really lacked again with cleanliness and also very untidy and not organised. However the breakfasts were very good and fruit fresh. Our queen size bed was so uncomfortable. It was 2 foam mattresses on top of one another and very thin. I still have a sore back from it. So we were very disappointed and we are not 5 star travellers just looking for somewhere nice and clean and basic to rest our heads and use the bathroom. This stay has not been very memorable one to list in our travel log. The owners lived next door and very nice people, however again not a good impression.
