“Great lodge for exploring Volcano NP”
We stayed at the Lodge for one night and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. It's nicely maintained and clean. The lodge is located in the middle of a rain forest which is pretty neat. It also comes with a tour of a lava tube that is better than the one in the park. Breakfast was very substantial and included fresh fruits, homemade banana bread, yogurt, juice and milk. The beds were comfortable. The home was built from the ground up by the owners and has its own quaint charm. There is a outdoor jacuzzi, which means you get to soak in the hot tub in the middle of the rain forest. The lodge is in Volcano Village which is a mile away from the park, a perfect home base to explore the park.
“Would Stay Again.”
Very close to the park which was nice. The females (wife, daughter, granddaughter) were a little in shock at first sight of this place. They were use to resort life in Kona. This place was clean and perfect for our one day stay. Not many places to dine around here. lava rock cafe was ok. I would recommend.
“Hawaii”
It was an ok trip.
“this place is AWESOME”
this place is awesome. we plan to stay there again. the owners are great and even offer (for free) a hike to a old lava tube. the rooms are really nice and clean. she baked us hawaiian bread for breakfast that was great.
“Basic”
Modest room. Not our first choice, but location is very close to Volcano National Park. It's a private room in a family home. Not your typical hotel room or what you'd find in a more upscale B&B. Free wi-fi was nice. Interesting short trail with a lava cave. Very slippery, so be careful.
“This hotel is very similiar to a bed and breakfast. it was fun.”
The owners are very eager to make sure guest have items they need and are comfortable. Very quiet and relaxing. My children were not sure about the stay at first but loved the environment and the crater! We really enjoyed this wonderful experience. I would request these accommodations again.
“Make sure you Skip this Lodge”
I stayed with my family two nights at the Aloha Crater Lodge in Volcano, and it was a very bad choice. The smell in the room was terrible and the matters and towels old and over used. The nights were cold and the heating hardly worked. We were also required to pay extra for our two young kids, when the original price was too expensive for what we got. Our luck was that we were so excited and busy exploring the park, that we came late and immediately went to sleep.
“explore the wet side of Hawaii”
The owners bent over backward to be accommodating. As we stayed for awhile we found some amenities lacking such as a closet or even hooks for hanging clothes. Preparing meals was not possible either. None the less, we had a full fridge with fresh fruit and bread everyday. The location is quiet if you don't mind the noise from the other lodgers...that could get really loud. The B&B is minutes from the park and a great place to stay if you want to explore it.
