Location: The room is close to the Volcano National Park..
You MUST locate the B&B before dark or it is impossible to find. The office is not well marked and there are low hanging tree limbs on the driveway that must be identified in the light.

Overnight stay.

Only stayed one night, but room was clean and comfortable. Nice choices for light breakfast and coffee without leaving the room. Didn't have time to tour the lava tube, but staff was extremely accomodating in every way. One thing is it's a little difficult to find initially, but a good location near the park.

Close to the Volcano National Park.

Pros: The comfy bed and that there was a heater in the room to take the chill out of the night air
Cons: The floor could be washed and the carpets cleaner
Location: You can visit the whole island from this location. The Volcanoes National Park is close so that is a bonus for visiting during the day and night.
We spent 10 nights at this bed & breakfast. It suited what we used it for and that was to shower and sleep. The bed was very comfortable. The floor was a little dirty for my liking but I was able to ignore that because we did not spend much time there. The owners were pleasant but we did not see much of them because we didn t spend much time there. The continental breakfast was sufficient to get us through to lunch. Remember that you are at a higher altitude and it is at least 15 degrees cooler than in Hilo. The owners would always leave a light on for us as it was usually late when we would get back to the lodge. All in all our stay was fine.

Close to National Park and Great Lava Tube

Posted Feb 11, 2014
Pros: Location to Volcanoes National Park.
Cons: Room that we stayed needed updating and improved bathroom sink.
Location: Volcano National Park Lava tube in their backyard
This is a small couple run lodge in Volcano. It is quite hard to find and located in a small alley. The room that we stayed in was adequate but a bit dated. There is a small fridge and they provide some fruit and pastry. The bed was ok but the linen are dated. There is a small shower and the sink for the bathroom was so small and barely useable. It was more of an outdoor sink than a bathroom sink. The private home lava tube is amazing and worth checking out. You have do some climbing and going down stairs but once you're inside, its very interesting.

Very nice B&B close to Volcanoes Nat'l Park

Posted Jan 30, 2014
Terrific staff upgraded our room when we arrived. Nice B&B tucked into the woods down the road from Volcanoes. Our room had a private patio with its own dining area. The room furnishings were terrific and the hottub next to the on site lava tube was great. I highly recommend this if you are looking for a reasonably priced place to relax near Volcanoes without the crowd of a hotel.

A Hawaiian experience

Pros: Towels like you have at home...they were soft and absorbent. Breakfast bread brought in the prior night. Yogurt, tea, oatmeal, fresh oj and milk.
Cons: There could be better lighting over the sink.
Location: Location is perfect to visit Volcano National Park about 5 minutes away. Dining is limited in Volcano but Aloha is near the 4 places or so to eat.
Only 5 rooms. Ours was clean, neat and very comfortable and cozy. It had 2 queen beds.. Ours was very comfortable. The quiet was wonderful. It is 4 driveways down a dirt road from the main road to the Volcano park. Towels better than our Hilo hotel. Table and chairs on lanai for breakfast or whenever. Hilo coffee and pot in room. as well as small refrig. Breakfast bread brought in night before. Lava tube onsite if feel the urge to get down and dirty. Hot tub available. Landscaping is beautiful and done by Bryan, the owner, who was helpful. the place was pleasant to walk. Three dogs that greeted you but never jumped on you. Not the Hilton but Hawaii...so nice.
