“Great time in Hawaii”

We enjoyed our stay at this condominium project. It's conveniently located close to several popular resorts, but without the crowds associated with those resorts. I loved the fact that it was gated, with a security guard. The accomodations were VERY comfortable. Our room lacked a coffee maker, but had we asked the front office for one, we would have received one, I'm sure. We did fine with "instant" coffee. The pool/clubhouse area was wonderful, although we had to drive in order to get there. Our unit was located far away from the pool (as are many units in this complex). Overall, I would recommend this resort to my friends and family.

“Amazing!”

From the second we walked into our villa it felt like home. The staff at the resort pool was wonderful. Working out at the edge of the ocean in the fitness center while being able to watch our child in the pool was priceless. We can't wait to come back!

“Great resort!!!”

I travelled with my whole family which ages ranged from my parents down to my toddler. We all had a blast!!! The condo was very comfortable and the resort was beautiful. We all enjoyed the pool and spa. We also enjoyed grilling and eating our dinner outside at a picnic area where they have hammocks. The location was ideal for extended stays. We were there for 5 days but hoped it was longer.

“Peaceful and perfect for families”

The Castle Halii Kai exceeded our high expectations and was perfect for our family with two small children. Our 3-bedroom "villa" (really townhouse) was clean, spacious and felt luxurious. The setting on a golf course is peaceful and tranquil, which suited our needs, but if you are seeking the non-stop activity of a resort, this is not for you. We struck a good balance by visiting the Hilton next door a couple of times for dinner and activities. Our children (4 & 6) loved the pool, which is natural looking. It has a small wading pool (1.5 feet deep) for little ones. Hanging out by the pool at sunset with drinks and appetizers is a feast for the senses and a truly wonderful way to experience paradise!

“Great Place to Stay!”

This was our first visit to Kona and it was absolutely beautiful. This "hotel" was very nice. It was great to have the kitchen area to make a few of our own meals to save money. The grounds and pool area were beautiful too. Overall I would definitely recommend this place to stay.

“perfect place for some peace and quiet”

we stayed in one of the ocean view 2nd story two bedroom villas. it was only the two of us, so we had lots of extra room, but no complaints. we watched the sunset every night and enjoyed the fact that we barely saw another soul there. we only briefly went to the pool once and the hot tub is nice, but when you're on the big island, you really need to be out exploring and trying out the dozens of public beaches. maybe it was the fact that we went the first week of september, but we seriously barely saw any other people. our unit actually had a grill on the private patio, so we went grocery shopping and had wonderful meals every night. overall, i can't say enough about this place...after a day out and about, it really was like coming home!

“Just about spotless”

We had a garden view room, ground floor off the golf course (Building 5, unit B). Our unit was nicely decorated. Two bedroom, two bath. Beautiful designer quilt sets in both bedrooms. Super comfortable bed with fabulous crisp sheets. Master had roomy shower and the bathroom was large. Bedroom and living/dining and patio furnishings were nicely coordinated. Fresh and new looking. Granite and stainless steel in the open kitchen. Utensils, dinnerware, glassware silverware--all quite nice. There is a washer/dryer and our unit even provided laundry softener sheets for the dryer. Our unit had two, large flat screen Tvs. Quiet spot, gated. Access code entry to the units. Felt safe to walk the grounds at night. Attractive lagoon swimming pool. The only thing we lacked was tennis rackets for the court--and if we'd asked, the nice office folks might have provided even those. This appears to be a newer resort. They are adding buildings and the new ones match the existing edifices. Each building looks rather like a nice large home. Most appear to have six units. The handsome landscaping creates variety, as there is very little variation in the exterior color scheme. There is enough room between buildings to provide an open, spacious feeling, but many of the newer buildings will not provide privacy from their patios or lanais as some of the buildings face one another. We don't golf, but enjoyed our stay immensely.

“Wonderful!”

My husband and I stayed at Castle Halii Kai for 6 nights on the week of Thanksgiving. We loved it! The property is beautiful, although I wish I could of been closer to the ocean view and the pool/fitness room, it was a work-out itself getting there, but that didn't bother me. Our room was very comfortable, it had everything you have in your home, washer/dryer, stove, fridge, iron, ironing board..and then some. Only thing is that I didn't know how far away it was from everything, we drove 30 minutes almost every day to get to downtown. If you don't mind that and if you are looking for a laid back resort then this is it. Hope whoever stays there has a wonderful stay.

“Just like the comforts of home but better”

The place took our breath away. The views were amazing and well worth the price. The condos were quite and not like the typical hotel bustle with kids runnin around screaming and the over load of tourist. Only down side was it was too short of a trip and had to head home after a weekend getaway
