Nice stay in Hilo

Posted Jan 25, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Free WIFI in the rooms would be nice, however the lobby was an enjoyable place to read emails as well
Location: This is the place to stay if your planning on going to the observatory or Volcano National Park
We would stay at this hotel again, the restaurant was great, its a good location, pool wasn't that great but comparable to what you would get in an older Hawaiian hotel.

Great view oceanside rooms.

Posted Jan 25, 2015
Pros: Easy to find and access. Oceanside.
Cons: Up-grading.
Location: Great location for ocean access and enjoyment.
Older facility - needs upgrading. Short stay so didn't experience the amenities.

Nice location but a bit pricey

Posted Jan 23, 2015
Pros: It had a lovely location. The street is lined with beautiful huge banyan trees.
Location: There wasn't much to do in Hilo and we had trouble finding a good restaurant. There is a great market there on Saturdays and a nice scrapbooking store
They should remove "Castle" from the name of the hotel as nowhere did we see the word at the hotel. In fact we had trouble finding it because we were looking for the "Castle" Hilo Hawaiian. The hotel is in a nice location, close to the water with lovely gardens nearby. Cafe food was ok but we found it noisy as there was always entertainment playing in the evenings.

Mauna Kea out the Lanai, heavenly beds, quiet

Posted Jan 22, 2015
Pros: The fabulous view, the privacy, the quiet, the wonderful beds, the convenience of parking; loved that we did not really need the staff much at all.
Cons: Decor new but peculiar; microwave would be nice; no low-level bathroom night light; no movies, really limited TV compared to what is available
Location: Don't miss the Orchid Greenhouse driving up to the Volcano; Eat corned beef hash at Ken's Pancake, any meal at Cafe Pesto; Rainbow Falls & potholes
Our room was upgraded to Ocean View on a higher floor (floor 3 too low) at what is now the Hilo Hawaiian, our second stay. We both adored our gorgeous view out our lanai, which we left open whenever home and all night; Coconut Island, the bay, the far shore with Mauna Kea rising majestically above it all...breathtaking!! Our newly remodeled room decor was quite peculiar in color and concept, but I am a designer so it may not matter to you. We loved the quiet, the cleanliness, the very comfy beds, unbelievable privacy, pleasurable shower, and fridge included. We could sit out on our Lanai in the morning sipping coffee and marveling at the view, then enjoy a great hot shower, and whenever we were ready, we'd take the elevator straight down to the basement parking and into the car without encountering many other people. Love it! Hilo is an alternative kind of town, not unlike Santa Cruz CA, and we like the affordable, down-to-earth slightly funky charm of the shady side of the Big Island (without the Kona self-consciousness), with its Volcano experiences, the orchid greenhouse, the little local zoo, the Farmer and Artisan market, the Tropical Botanical Garden, the Liliukalini Garden, and a really wide variety of different eating experiences. We loved the Banyan Drive view last time, but new harsh street lights ruined the fabulous soft glow in the rain.

立地はいいが、サービスは日本のビジネスホテル以下か?

Posted Jan 20, 2015
Pros: 週末のーブッフェと立地はいいと思います。
Cons:

Posted Jan 15, 2015
