“Great experience”
King Kamehameha's has recently been remodeled. The rooms were neat and clean. Service was great. The sand beach was great. It was the only sand beach in the area. The rest have coral. We really missed a kitchenette, but knew in advance that they just had a small in-cabinet refrig. We would stay here again.
“Great Hotel in a Great Location”
My husband and I have stayed at this hotel before, so we knew what to expect. The location is perfect, on the ocean with lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. The hotel has its own restaurant which is open for breakfast and throughout the day. We and our friends ate breakfast at the hotel several times. They have a breakfast buffet, but we ordered off the menu so I can't say how the buffet was, except that it looked good. They have a pool, and access to ocean swimming. There is a bar/snack bar by the pool. We had sandwiches there one day and were pleased. The hotel does charge for parking, $10 plus taxes a day. Our rooms were on the third floor and quiet. I liked the full-sized tub for showers, rather than the narrow tubs found in other hotels. They provided small refrigerators in the room, and hair dryers. The hotel holds a luau three or four nights a week. My husband and I went once when we were there, but not on this trip.
“Awesome!!!!”
Hotel and service was great but it was wrecked after tsunami....
“Kona's King”
The hotel was gorgeous and quickly repairing the damage from the February Tsunami. The staff was helpful, friendly, and informative. Couldn’t ask for a nicer place to stay.
“great hotel”
close to events and town
“Perfect Location!!”
Hotel is centrally located. I didn't have a rental car, but there were so many nifty things to see and do witing easy walking distance of this hotel. It was really cool.
“Great Location”
We stayed at King Kam's for 4 nights last week. There is still some construction going on from the Tsunami damage, but it wasn't really in the way. The location was great. The room was nice, every roon has a balcony. We could see the bay from our balcony.
“Awesome”
The hotel was surrounded by plenty of shops and restaurants, including a scooter rental place (all within walking distance). The luau was at the hotel so we didn't have to drive anywhere. The luau was so much fun! The tour bus picked us up at the hotel. It was just amazingly convenient. There's even a Wal-Mart nearby in case you forgot to pack something! Oh, and there was a nice beach not too far from the hotel. It was just he perfect location. Our room was very nice. The bed was sooooo comfortable. I'd stay there again in a heart beat!
“Great Stay In Kona”
The rooms are very remodeled with all the bells and whistles, free wifi, great mattresses, flat screens, nice balconies. It has a small beach and you can snorkel on it as well. There was some Tsunami damage to the hotel, so we could not eat there, but the pool side bar/grill was great. The pool is nice and clean, but not alot of families were there, thus, the staff catered to adults in the pool. This meant the kids couldn't be too loud, to boisterous, or splash, or play with water toys. The food was good. The service very nice. I would come back again. Great location, we walked everywhere, but I think you still need a car, as for kids, it was nice to go to all the super markets and super size stores about 2 miles up the hill.
“Security on staff excellent”
I lost my fanny pack and the security guard found it and called our room. This saved our vacation....I could have had my identity stolen
