peaceful hotel with fabulous beach

Posted Apr 18, 2014
Pros: The view was gorgeous! The hotel is spacious (alot of walking) and nothing ever felt crowded or hurried. We enjoyed outdoor breakfast buffetts.
Location: The beach was lovely with soft sand and big enough for a good walk. the entry into the water was gentle and the waves were safe, but good for boogie.
We had only 4 nights 3 days to spend over Spring Break with our 18 year old son, but the stay was so perfect we felt like we had rested a full week.

5 star beach, a 2 star hotel

Posted Apr 18, 2014
Pros: the beach
Cons: may be a different management.
Location: nothing to do near by other than the golf course.
there was lot of noise made by lot of kids with no parental supervision, it has no character whatsoever, you walk a lot to your room, too expensive for what you get.

Will do it again

Recent updates to the hotel have enhanced what is already a beautiful setting. It is very difficult to complain about anything associated with the Hapuna Prince Hotel.

Hapuna not to par...

Posted Mar 24, 2014
The hotel looked tired and dated, though the website stated many enhancements. Breakfast was fantastic, but on several ocassions I was over charged for the buffet and needed to tell the staff. We also took advantage of the Spa. It was exceptionally clean and the service was very nice. Although some staff were friendly, I did not find everyone "happy". Front desk staff were almost robotic. I did enjoy the morning breakfast staff and some of the pool staff. I did notice that the pool was used by the people from the State Park who simply need to "rinse off", though there were showers located closer to the beach. In addition, the staff appeared to be allowed to have friends and family use the facility and did not need to pay for boogie boards or snorkel gear. The gear was also used in the pool by their children. One of the pool staff brought his little boy to work. :(. Overall, such activity was very unprofessional; not the image portrayed on the website. Needless to say, I would not recommend this property to friends, nor would I return.

Great property. Beautiful Grounds

An excellent property. A little confusing on the food selections on Friday and Saturday as both days are locked up on Seafood and Japanese fair.

We love this Beach and the location of the hotel. Our to floor room had a great view of the beautiful pool, beach and ocean. During our stay, we observed lots of whales from our room. The food is good and servers are friendly. This is one of our favorite places to go as a couple. Very relaxing.

Fabulous hotel with wonderful views.

Perhaps our favourite hotel in the world. Lovely beach with waves for fun body boarding.Great food. And at the right time of the year, you can watch the whales breach and spout. Second time at the hotel, it was as good as we remembered. We will definitely return.

very very very quiet hotel

first off if you stay here you have to rent a car, it is way out in the boonies. this and mauna kea are the furthest resorts north of town. the biggest plus is this a very very quiet and peaceful resort. pool is great. beach is fantastic... room was a little dated but the bathroom was great!!!! paid $60 per night to upgrade to a higher floor. big mistake. all I got was a better view of the roof of the beachfront rooms. they wanted another $100 a night to stay in one of those rooms, I guess I should have done it. if you want a real view of the water you have to stay in a beachfront room. period . don't let the pics fool you. as far as food goes, get ready to spend some money. or get in your car and drive 10 miles mauna lani beach which has lots of options. the café for muffins/sandwiches at the hotel is a joke. there is no food there. so get ready to pay $25-30 for breakfast. $28 room service hamburger inc tip and del charge. dinner is huge money. loved the fact that the valets left my car out front. getting my car was instantaneous. and after paying $60 a night for nothing to upgrade room at least they didn't gaffe me for a useless splash pass. they only charged me for self parking instead of valet park which saved me a whopping $20. very greatful for that. tv was a good 40" flat screen with lots of channels. if you want to be away from it all and want a beautiful beach this is the place for you....golf was great too.......
