“Very Clean and Tidy”
We found the entire property extremely clean and well-kept in every way. And The Hawaiian native ownership/management went out of their way to see that all of us were well cared for!
“Highly recommend”
Staff was very friendly, hotel was very clean and room very adequate, attached Coconut Grill restaurant was exceptional, parking a bit of a problem when the hotel is full. Overall a great experience. Not quite as friendly or helpful at Kona Seaside & parking terrible.
“Comfortable Old School Hotel”
Stayed here for one night. Had the basic necessities, no frills, for a good price - exactly what we were looking for. Most importantly, the beds were very comfortable. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
“very nice for a budget stay”
The bad thing was the parking-extremely small lot and because they have a good attached restaurant, there were often customers parked where hotel guests needed to park. Great Koi pond, good service, excellent restaurant, nice garden and poolside rooms with air conditioning. Older rooms & carpet but pretty comfortable. Location was pretty good.
“Hilo Seaside”
Nice hotel for the price.
“The Old Fashion Way”
The hotel was just perfect. After having been at the Hilton Village in Oahu, the quiet not rushed time was the best. The hotel is small friendly, interesting with a great restuarant and a very large fish pond the raised and lowered with the tide. I would recommend this place for its location, food, friendliness and a place the just relax.
“Excellent Service”
Hilo Seaside Hotel had exceptional service, from check-in to check-out! If you're looking for a place to leave your luggages, shower, and sleep, then go out and drive around to take in the sites, Hilo Seaside Hotel is the place for you. It was a simple, yet quiet and peaceful place. It's near downtown Hilo, the airport, Ken's House of Pancakes, the Panaewa Zoo, Mauna Loa Visitors Center, and more. Parking was an issue, because we got back to the hotel a little later in the evening, but there is ample parking close to the hotel.
“Great Old Style Hawaii Stay”
If you are looking for glitzy resort style accomodations this is not the hotel for you, but we found the friendly real Hawaii vibe of this place charming. The lobby overlooking the koi pond and the bay was lovely; although it is located at a busy intersection, it made it fun to people watch. Staff were super nice and laid back and accomodating. There are no elevators and the rooms are sometimes hard to locate, so scout out your location and be careful to only lug what you need to the room before proceding if you're on the second floor! And we can't say enough about the Cocunt Grill restaurant! Breakfast came with our room and we ate there both days - and also had dinner there too! Yummy yummy yummy complementary artichoke dip.
“Great value hotel, stunning view of waterfront”
Friendly staff, nice room, very clean. Highly recommended. Very short drive to Hilo's shops and markets. Only bugbear was the high prices in the hotel restaurant (even by Hawaiian standards).
“I will stay again if I go to Hilo”
Can't beat it for the price. An older hotel but comfortable and clean. No frills. Limited parking. WiFi from the lobby only. and geckos in the room. The restaurant was very good. The staff was very friendly. If I go back to Hilo, this is the place I would stay.
