Convienent and homey

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: The staff is very helpful
This hotel is close to downtown Hilo and the airport. It is not a luxury type hotel, but rather a cozy sort of place. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and seems to have been recently re-decorated. Only down side would be the front windows of the rooms open to the walkways, which can be a bit disconcerting in terms of privacy. But, a good place to "crash" out at night.

Decent price hotel and centrally located.

Nice staff, decent price, clean rooms, great food in adjoining restaurant. Nice garden areas, and overall beautiful landscaping. Pool was clean and relaxing except for the helicopters flying over quite frequently. It's close to the airport so you have to trade convenience for some noise. Only problems I seen were all the stairs, either up or down for every room. Even leaving lobby had 3 or 4 steps, so tricky with luggage.

Hotel with high quality-price ratio

Free parking, free wifi. I do not expect more from a hotel located close to the sea.

Moderate, nice, Good Location

Posted Oct 9, 2014
Pros: Pleasant, Helpful staff. Clean room and linens, a/c. Lots of things to see w/car within few miles. Lovely ocean views driving.
Cons: WiFi connections are difficult to make. Change room pictures!
Location: Staff can help w/maps etc. Museums, Water falls, State 'beach' parks. About 45 min from Volcano, HI where Lava spewing Volcano Mauna Lau.
Greeted by excellent staff person, late in evening. All staff very helpful. Rooms are not large, but have refrig, micro and coffee maker. Clean linens and room. We were on first floor next to swimming pool. If you don't want to swim here, don't stay on first floor as it is noisy.

Clean and simple, excellent in its price-range.

Pros: A/C units in each room
The room was clean and comfortable, a bit spare but exactly as expected for a budget location. Close to the airport with slat windows for ventilation, so there was a bit of extra noise from the planes.

Friendly comfortable hotel

Pros: Very friendly staff and rlaxing atmosphere.
Location: Right on the water. Could go for a enjoyable relaxing walk.
We arrived early from an overseas flight and the staff were only willing to accomodate us with a early check in even although the hotel was very busy. Could walk to restaurants and one availiable on site

Older hotel across from beach

Right down at water front off Banyon Dr so nice access to the ocean. Hotel is older and our room out the back side with door on an inner courtyard that was not as nice as the one closer to the lobby area, felt really out of the way and kind of confined. Room was very clean and bed pretty comfortable. Quite basic but only there one night so not a big deal. Staff very friendly. Nice to be so close to the ocean. Price a bit high considering such a basic room, guess you are paying for location.

A great place to stay while exploring Hilo area.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were nice. The location near the water is gorgeous. I ate breakfast every morning in the lobby with a beautiful view of the bay and the park across the street.
