Great hotel in a picturesque setting by the oceanPosted Jul 26, 2014
This resort has so many amenities. There is a good selection of restaurants to choose from. The tram and boat to get from one end of the resort to the other are excellent. Our children loved the lagoon beach, which has several water activities to choose from. Their favorites were snorkeling and kayaking. The pool by Lagoon Tower is wonderful for children--- there are waterfalls, a cave, a slide, and the depth is 3.5 to 4 feet throughout the pool. The DVD rental kiosks in the lobbies of each tower have a good selection of movies to choose from. Would definitely return here.

Great staff, great food & great overall atmospherePosted Jul 25, 2014
The food, staff, and on-site entertainment was great. This was my second trip to the Hotel and everything was as good as it was the last time. I would recommend the morning/lunch catamaran snorkel trip.

StaycationPosted Jul 24, 2014
Pros: We liked the lagoon very much. We snorkeled and swam with the turtles. The pools were also great.
Cons: Enjoyed having the comp movies and games, but a little more selection would be better.
Location: Definitely drive outside of the resort to see the beaches and little towns.
My family of four ( 2 boys: 5 & 9 years old) enjoyed our stay at the Waikoloa. The rooms were big and spacious. The grounds were well-kept and enjoyed strolling inside and outside the hotel. You can't beat the island beauty that is right there. There were more than enough activities for all of us to do. We wished we stayed one more day just to do the activities in the hotel.

Pros: - Lagoon - Restaurant - Dolphin Quest - Tram - Boat - Snorkeling with Turtles - Luau - Awesome pools
Cons: Room decor could be better but we hardly stayed in the room.
Location: - 10mins to white sand beach - 5mins to secluded beach - 30mins to black sand beach - 20mins from airport. - 2mins shopping
One of the best resorts we have stayed. Nicely done. Center of everything.

It has it all (almost)Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Lots of things to do right on site. Multiple restaurants & pools.
Cons: They could reduce prices for food & drinks & hire more help for parking & bell service.
Location: There are half a dozen snorkeling beaches within a half hour including Hapuna Beach which is only 15 minutes north.
Had a great time. Beautiful resort. A great place to come back & relax after exploring the island.

Family friendly hotelPosted Jul 12, 2014
This was a perfect hotel for my 4 and 6 year old. The lagoon provided a safe space in ocean water to snorkel and paddle board. The kids loved looking at all the sea life - fish, sea turtles, and dolphins. The only downfall to this hotel is the fact that it's so big. Bring good walking shoes or be prepared to wait for the tram or boat.

Family of 4 with 2 childrenPosted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: Everything! Dolphin Quest experience was amazing!
Cons: Access to a real beach and Place Tower room was a little out dated, not to my expectations, but they upgraded us to a better room in the Lagoon Tower.
Location: Great location with access to shops and restaurants.
Great selection for family with kids. Plenty to do with kids and family friendly restaurants.

large, beautiful and naturalPosted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: the lay out and landscaping, and the beautiful art work, the pools and lagoon, and the dolphin quest area.
Cons: the very long walk from the self parking area to the hotel itself....hot and long, especially if you're carrying stuff!
Location: drive the entire island on highway 19, you'll see the difference in climate, foliage, coastline views....google yelp to find local eateries ....
facilities are beautiful, spread over 62 acres of landscaped gardens including a natural lagoon where tropical fish and sea turtles live....hotel grounds are so large that it never feels very crowded despite the huge crowd of guests. all hotel pools are great, different from each other, with different slides and landscaping. the hotel tram and boats are great fun to transport yourself from one end to the other. lovely museum art pieces adorn the entire facility. sunsets are quite breathtaking from the pools and lagoon areas.
