“Wonderful place to stay..”

We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom which was really nice as the kids had thier own room. The kitchen and living room were spacious. Lots of greenery around the property.

“Nice space, a little far out”

The rooms are nice - good amount of space, new furniture, carpets, etc. The location is a few miles outside of town. The concierge is a bit aggressive, but can book good deals for snorkeling, etc. Overall, recommended location - if you don't mind having to drive to town (there really isn't anywhere walkable for dinner, etc)

Area recommendations
Kona - sunny side of the island

“Teriffic Value for your money”

Rented a 2 bedroom unit for 1 week for the same daily rate I would have paid at a hotel. Each kid had their own bed (they hate sharing a double bed in hotel rooms) plus we had a king bed in our own bedroom. Nice kitchen with all the pots/pans/plates/etc. Front desk was very helpful and gave us restaurant recommendations and map of the area. Right down the road from one of the major Snorkel cruise companies too!

“Great stay in a great condo!”

We stayed in the resort for 8 nights. Had a 2 bedroom unit. It was fabulous! Very clean with everything you need - dishes, washer dryer, hair dryer, free wi-fi, plenty of towels, 3 TVs. Each bedroom had its own bath + there was a half bath upstairs for living room/kitchen. Bedrooms are downstairs. Both up and downstairs had a patio. Trash is taken out every day and towels are changed every day also (including beach ones). One full cleaning half way through the stay. Fridge had an ice maker so no need to buy ice. Unit has central AC. Grounds are gorgeous and well kept. Parking is in a parking garage so your car doesn't get hot and is secure. Depending on which building you are in it is between a 30 second to maybe a 3 minute walk to your unit. Staff is on hand with golf carts if you need stuff trasported into your vehicle or need a ride yourself. Not too far or bothersome and nice to not hear any car noise in your condo! You do need to check out at 10am, but can stay and use the pools, they will provide you with towels and have a shower if you need one later. Will store your luggage in a locked secure storage. Overall a great stay!!!

Area recommendations
Downtown Kona, Hapuna Bay (45 min away), Keahou Bay for snorkeling (2 miles).

“Holua no ka oi!”

Holua Resort at Keauhou Bay is the best ever! After a horrible flight lasting eight and a half hours, our lousy luck changed. We were upgraded from a one- to a two-bedroom suite at no charge. The rooms are clean, quiet and the employees are all friendly and very helpful. The beds are SO comfortable. We had three bathrooms for three people - nice! The grounds are beautiful and the location is near a snorkeling company and Monday luau. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone visiting Kona-Kailua.

Area recommendations
While on the Big Island go to Kealakekua Bay for snorkeling, Onizuka Astronomy Center at 9,300 ft. on Mauna Kea, Volcanoes Park, Hilo for beautiful rain forests and waterfalls, 500 year old City of Refuge on west side, a coffee plantation, a sandy beach, and scuba with the mantas off the airport. Do not do the Island Breeze luau in Kona - it's a waste of money.

“A great place for a relaxing vacation”

We had a very nice time (13 days total) at the Holua. We were in Kona in May of this year but stayed in another condo. We loved Kona so much we came back in October. This time, we tried the Holua because of the good reviews and we simply loved it. They provided excellent customer service, with a friendly and responsive staff. In addition to the usual amenities, such as a full kitchen, washer and drier, daily beach towels, free Wi-Fi, they also provide some pleasant "surprises" including complimentary beach mat and noodles! We had an upstairs one bed room unit. The place was very clean and quiet, and every time when you encounter a staff member, they always give you a very warm greeting. We highly recommend this place, especially for those who want to hang loose and relax.
