This B&B was 8 miles in the mountains, poor roads,Posted Oct 31, 2013
Cons: Better description of location, nearest restaurant 6 miles
Location: Nothing, City and facilities 6 or 8 miles from B&B
Breakfast was not provided, was advised not to drive in this area at night, I got lost trying to find the facility. Owner advised do not contact anyone other than her, she left at 6:30 am, and I left shortly after I left note advising her I was leaving and that I would not be back and I would pay for one night. I do not recommend that Expedia should have this B&B on their approval list. I was very unhappy with this B&B. sincerely, Howard J. Boyd If you would like to comment please Do So!!

Beautiful Hawaiian settingPosted Sep 14, 2013
Pros: Its not your usual hotel experience. The garden is lovely. Dave and Nora are very nice
Cons: I would have liked a microwave so that we could rewarm leftovers.
Location: Hilo has many great things to see, esp. the Hawaiian Botanical Garden and the zoo. Downtown looked like it had a lot of cute shops and restaurants.
Malia's Birdsong is one of several B&B rooms available on this property. it is set among a beautiful garden with a llama, nubian goats, cats and dogs for company. Although a bit out of town this means you are not in the midst of the tourist business. At night it is very quiet except for the frogs singing. This is a place to get away, read a book, take a walk. The proprietors will take care of a lovely breakfast that you can eat out n the little lanai looking at jungle plants and orchids.

Excellent service and beautiful locationPosted Aug 22, 2013
This was a great place to stay! Lots of beautiful plants and trees that Nora and her husband planted themselves. Their cats and dogs are sometimes out and very friendly. They also have a pet llama and some goats. At night, there are hundreds of frogs croaking/singing, which may not sound great, but was actually very pleasant and soothing. We were able to request the things we wanted for breakfast, and there was a binder full of recommendations for local attractions and restaurants. Nora was very helpful and friendly! Our living space included a bedroom, bathroom and living room with a great view. About 10 miles outside of Hilo, but not hard to get to (though finding it the first time was a bit tricky-dont' rely on GPS or Google/Apple maps). My only complaint is that there's only about 5 minutes worth of hot water, so shower fast! I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone traveling to Hilo.

Quiet, country locationPosted Mar 31, 2013 on Hotels.com
Located on a small farm, lots of flowers and trees. Peaceful, but not for those looking to be in the city and close to restaurants, shops, etc. 9 miles/20 minutes from town.

Comfortable and clean, elevated location. However, hard to find in the evening hour. Good continental breakfast. A bit of a drive to downtown Hilo. Quiet location, except for the nearby animals on occasion.
