“A home away from home!”
Expected a room, but got a condo. Fully equipped, including washer & dryer. Great kitchen. Great views. Two bedrooms. Two full baths. Just us two, but could accomodate as many as eight. All the comforts of home. Didn't have to live out of a suitcase. Tons of closet space on both floors. Expedia got us our money's worth and more.
“Very impressive view!”
The condo we stayed in had a beautiful and relaxing view of the ocean. We could see fishing boats, canoe paddlers and a calming sunset. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean and easy to use. We had a great time and would do it all over again!
“Quiet in Keaauhou-Kona !!”
Bordering the Pacific Ocean and Kona Country Club's Ocean golf course, you will find a lush and well maintained quiet property that provides excellent and friendly service with all the amenities you would want. The on site restaurant, tennis courts, swimming pools, BBQ's, recreation room, and walking paths are clean and fabulous! Each unit has a designated shaded parking stall, a plus! V E R Y Impressed.
“Took 37 years”
We alway's wanted to take a trip but never had the resources. We did decide to save and take this trip and I loved it.Very beautiful and oh so much history. It was more money and expense to come there but it was worth it.I meet people who said they were staying in there daughter;s place and I thought wow,why can't I have the same thing thru my kids i did truely love it all and we did as much as we could.I would definately refer this outrigger, actually I did to a couple who were staying in the hotel, they were going to consider the resort next time.Like I said took us 37 years
“great condos”
low-rise buildings on beautifully landscaped grounds at the ocean's edge.
“Definitely would go back!!”
The condo we stayed in was very well decorated and had a great "homey" feeling to it. Spacious and perfect for our family.
“Good if you don't mind being without AC”
Here are a few tips to consider when booking: 1)They charge for any and all phone calls (even local and 800#'s) so check to see if your cell phone can work in Hawaii. 2)The units do not have AC. You can rent an AC unit at a specified price per day if you desire. They do provide many fans in each room to help stem the heat but we went in late April (during what some of the locals referred to as the hot season) and we were a tad bit uncomfortable during the day. The night is better, but the temp only drops about 10 degrees or so. We were out and about for most of the day so this wasn't a huge issue for us. 3) These are privately owned condos that the Outrigger Kanaloa maintains so you are furnished with a fully functional kitchen stocked with dishware and utensils, plus washer and dryer. There's a local grocery store up the hill from the resort where you can purchase any thing you would need. This place is ideal for large families to stay as there is plenty of room to spread out. A little big for just 2 people though. The pools are awesome and well maintained. They have an adults only pool that children are not allowed to swim in, leaving adults to relax in peace. The hotel restaurant has good food and a great view during sunset, but it is a bit pricey and requires reservations in advance.
“April 2007”
I loved this condo. We have 3 children. My husband and I think this was the best place we have stayed in kona yet. We had a 3 bedroom . It had two bedrooms on the bottom floor and a loft with 2 beds up stairs. A total of 4 beds. We spent the extra money on a full ocean view and it was worth every penny! I loved waking up and having my kona coffee on the porch. The children also loved it. We will stay here again. Also food is very expensive and we used the kitchen a lot and it had every thing we needed. We saved a lot of money by eating breakfast there and sometimes dinner. The best restaurant in kona is Bubba Gumps. It is not cheap to eat there but worth the money. This was my husband and I second trip to kona and it wont be our last. Aloha!
“Very good stay”
we had a really good stay - we all enjoyed the appartment, pools and the hotel in general.
“What a sunset!”
I've stayed at Kanaloa three times, and I don't think I would stay anywhere else in Kona. The location is amazing: you either have a view of the ocean or the golf course, sometimes both. Sitting on the lanai, listening to the birds, watching the sunset: it's amazing. I also love that most condos have owners who share their homes with guests, so it feels like a home away from home. The grill serves delicious food in a unique location, and everyone is super friendly. Plus it's great having the Keahou shopping center right up the hill for when you run out of beverages to fill your lanai fridge. Love it, can't wait to get back.
