“The loverly resort”
My trip is very wonderfull. I am very happy to select the Royal Kona Resort which the area is country view beside the big ocean with a lot of sea air and staff is very friendly. Tiki bar area of Kona Resort is very lovely where you can drink or relax to look the Pacific ocean. I hope I will be back there soon.
“loved the view and the peaceful setting”
Even though It was raining the entire stay we felt relaxed and happy with this hotel. We would have liked to stay longer, but we could not delay our flight. The service was excellent and the restaraunt was great with great service also. The Bed was firm and comfy. The Shower was hot with great water pressure. The oversized deck looked over the ocean even at a discounted rate. Nice furniture on the deck and in the room. A large safe for our camera and laptop and our purses even fit. Over all we had a great time even in the rain. Nice pool and you can walk to everything. Shops, Restaraunts and more. We will return!
“great location”
We were extremly satisfied with our pick of hotel for this vacation. Sure hotel is a bit older and needs some remodeling (which has already started in main building). Instead of that ... this oceanfront hotel is beautiful with stylish open air-fishpond lobby, in great location - close to shopping and dining, has it's own private laguna for swimming and sunbathing. We were there alone all the time. I would absolutely recommend this hotel :-)
“Can't wait to go back”
Would definitely stay here when I come back, have recommended this hotel for my brother when he comes for his honeymoon. Was very impressed, and ther luau was great!
“What a nice surprise!”
We were hesitate to stay in this hotel because of past reputation. On the contrary, we were very satisfied with the accomodations and the view from our room was wonderful. We stayed in the updated and remodeled section of the hotel and, with minor exception, it was very nice and comfortable. The newly opened Don the Beachcomer resturant was very good quality food and service. The view and setting was to die for. We thoughly recommed this hotel.
“Best Hotel for the area. Location is the best.”
We had the best time ever there. The Location of the Hotel was the best. Walking distance to every thing and right on the Ocean. And not alot of traffic to deal with.
“Royal Kona Resort - great hotel in great location in Kona”
We loved to stay in the Royal Kona Hotel. This was our 3rd stay. The staff was helpful and gave us a room overlooking the lagoon and ocean. We loved the nice gardens, great views from the restaurant. The lagoon was great for the kids to practice snorkeling. The location is excellent and it is an easy walk to the farmers market, church, restaurants, etc. We were there for 4 nights in 4-06 Monika and Fred, Hungington Beach, CA
“Very Nice Hotel for the Money”
I booked this trip last minute, as in the day before our trip, at first i was kind of uneasy about it, but the hotel turn out very very nice. It was right on the ocean (we had an unobstructed ocean view from our balcony) and the room was really clean!! The staff were very friendly and courteous, and the hotel events planner/concierge was very knowledgable and suggested trips/events for us on a budget. I heard that this hotel used to be the Hilton at one time, I don't know if that is true, but I would believe it. It is walking distance from the old shopping district on Ali'i drive, they have Luau's on premises and a restaurant. Overall a great room at a good price!! Would I stay again or reccomend... DEFINATELY
“Can,t wait to go back”
Nice place close to shopping ocean eating and great viw
“best hotel on that strip of coast”
After going and seeing the line of hotels and resorts on the coast I am glad we stayed at the Royal Kona. Judging from the outside only, it seemed Royal Kona was the nicest. The staff was great and we didn't have any complaints. The Mai Tai bar was the most relaxing, especially in the evenings. Nice pool, bigger than it looked in the pictures. We did actually see fish and turtles in the lagoon. I would also recommend Wasabi's, Boston Basil, and a great place tucked off the street, somewhere between the Fish Hopper and the Shaved ice place, starts with a R? They advertise fresh fish on a little black board by the sidewalk. The hotel was very accomadating to our flight schedule. The have a courtesy room as well as you can pay to keep your room later. Yes, you do have to pay for parking. I would highly, highly recommend renting a car and driving the coast. Please go see South Point, best view ever! It seems as if you are going down the wrong road and that it never ends, but once it does, wow! We also went to see the volcano, water falls and North Point. It was nice because we went at our on pace, ate when we wanted , when we needed. We even saw a rainbow! Cheapest thing to do in Hawaii is the drive, also is the best by far!!! Now that I know I would have spent more days driving the coast and sight seeing. Get a map of the coast with attractions listed on it and drive!! Royal kona has such maps in their lobby!
