Nice hotelPosted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: The Lei Making class with Aunty Tutu was very enjoyable. Also, the Frozen Mojo at the Rays at the Bay bar was awesome. I will be back for another.
Cons: The walls were thin and guests were noisy.
Location: It's not within walking distance of anything besides snorkeling on Keauhou Bay, but there is a trolley that you can take for free as a guest.
I enjoyed my stay at the Kona Sheraton. There are a lot of fun activities to take advantage of at the hotel and a trolley that will take you to most interesting sights in Kona for free if you are a guest. I would highly recommend snorkeling with the hotel partner on Keauhou Bay during the day and with Keauhou Adventures at night for the Manta Ray snorkel. Truly amazing! The pool was fun - they have floating bean bags that you can chill in and float around and read a book with and also a 50 foot slide that was fun but a bit painful. We enjoyed peace and quiet during the off season, but the walls were super thin, so it might be unpleasant if you have loud neighbors. The spa was lovely and we had a great massage by the ocean outside on the spa deck. Unfortunately, there were some rowdy marines staying in the hotel that were hooting and hollering the whole time, so that is a risk as well.

Amazing Manta Rays & Fantastic StaffPosted Sep 13, 2014
Pros: The staff was extremely friendly and helpful!
Cons: Breakfast buffet could be improved - coffee and fresh omelet bar were good.
Location: Helicopter tours, snorkel with manta rays
The hotel was beautiful and I loved that we could see the manta rays from our balcony! We only had a few days on the island and Yuki helped us make the most of it by coordinating our activities. We decided to to a helicopter tour of the volcanoes, she recommended the one that includes the waterfalls. We were so glad we got to see that part of the island as well, it wound up being our favorite part of the tour. She also set us up on a kayak trip to snorkel with the manta rays. They feed right under the boats and swim within inches of you. There was a little confusion with the tour operator as to where we were supposed to meet - we thought it was in front of the hotel but it was down at the dock. A big shout out to Matt who was working the valet desk on 9/1/14 - he went out of his way to contact the tour operator and saved our trip! (Our phones were in the room since we were going to be in a kayak.) It was the highlight of our trip and we are so grateful!

Nice hotel, nice setting, great pool, needs TLCPosted Sep 11, 2014
Pros: The pool, the setting, the serenity.
Location: Need to travel a bit as this hotel is not in the mix of things. Kona-Kailua is a bit north and the golf course adjacent to the property is closed.
We were very pleased with this 4 Star hotel on most levels. Great little coffee bar, restaurant & setting, pool was spectacular. What we found were many simple fix items needing a little maintenance. Dry rot on the railings, a sliding door that needed the Hulk to open, hallway picture down and not rehung for a day, etc....just the little things you notice.

Beautiful location, but hotel badly needPosted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: Beautiful location and view, close to the bay.
Cons: Hotel is very old and dire need of upgrade. Put more food and restaurant choices. This is old Sheraton and does not fit its reputation as a quality
Location: kayaking and Manta Ray is a must do from the nearby Bay
Hotel badly needs to be upgraded. Food and restaurant were not good and very limited choice.

Pros: The location gave us a close view of the Manta Rays.
Cons: High resort fees should not be charged after you pay so much for the room.
Location: Watch the Manta Ray from the property.
My Family had a pleasant stay at the property. The lobby was very inviting and the room was comfortable. It is located on a past lava flow which added to the mysticism of the island. My kids enjoyed the pool a lot.

Very nice hotel, beautiful view.Posted Aug 31, 2014
Pros: Far away enough from the other hotels. But close enough to get to beach and restaurants
Cons: Paint the resort a different color. Tan color a little to dull.
Location: Everything was accessible if you had a car. Which I did . I loved the location.
My wife and I were very happy here. Excellent staff.
