Nice hotel, but too much party noise.

Posted Apr 19, 2015
Pros: The pool was very pleasant, and the floating bean bags are the best pool toy ever.
Cons: Sound proofing of the rooms. The much advertised long water slide was very slow and hardly got used by my kids.
Location: Location is nice, with great ocean views, though lack of beach access was a bit disappointing. Trolley to the beach once every 2hrs, so hardly usable.
Since I traveled with small children who do not care for an ocean view, I opted for the cheaper mountain facing rooms. These rooms are adjacent to a large lawn where events--open luau, as well as large private parties--were held almost every night. Sound proofing of these rooms is poor, so we could not really use our room until the events were over. That was usually between 9 and 10pm. The hotel staff was uneven. We do not look expensive, and were met with some disdain by the greeters/valet parkers. But the front desk staff were very pleasant. Pool table and ping pong table, favorites with my boys, were not maintained and in poor shape. I had to work at night and had to use the Internet heavily. That use is included in the $30/day resort fee. Fee is pretty steep, but the Internet connection was much better than in most hotels. We never ate in the hotel. $23 for a buffet breakfast is ridiculous for kids who are happy with a bowl of cereal and a glass of milk. But there was a handy small fridge in our room, which we filled with supplies from the nearby market.

A few comments re my stay.

Posted Apr 17, 2015
Pros: the pool area was quite beautiful. room was nice and large; as was bathroom. Lovely grounds.
Cons: Showers near the pool to avoid burning cement. Better television programming in rooms. Terry cloth bathrobes in rooms.
Location: Not much to do nearby; there is a shuttle that takes you into town but it took me 2 days to find out about it.
I went there with my son and his family; we had separate rooms.; their room was next to the elevator. My room, which was for a disabled person, was quite a distance from the elevator, which does not make sense, so if I forgot something I had to decide whether or not to make the shlep back to the room. Room service has great limitations. They need to have a full blown coffee shop that serves sandwiches and eggs most of the day. Very expensive eating choice (only one restaurant or one and a half). They do have a food station at the bar but the bar closes early (and I don't drink; they could be making more money from it because of the food).

Fantastic Resort Hotel on the Big Island

Posted Apr 7, 2015
Pros: Everything! Are room was quiet and private.
Cons: The hotel can't do anything about this, but the air conditioning is very loud in the rooms.
Location: Resort is right next door to a bay/port that offers daily excursions.
When I arrived late at night the first day of our stay, I could not see the ocean view properly from our room, and I complained to the front desk staff. They were very accommodating, and immediately held a wonderful ocean front room for us to move into the next day. Of course, when I saw the view the next morning during the daylight, it was wonderful, and I had a hard time deciding whether or not to move into the beach front room or not! We did make the move, and hearing the waves crash onto the lava rocks and seeing the boats outside our balcony right after sunset with the snorkelers and underwater lighting to attract the manta rays, was just another bonus among so many. Some people may not like the $30 daily "resort" fee, but it is worth every penny considering all the amenities the resort offers: a fantastic, huge pool with sand entry, meandering pathways, and two slides. Also, Ping-Pong, pool, outside computers and t.v., basketball, tennis, beautiful grounds, including a cute white chapel for Church on Sundays. Also, the resort is centrally located to all the activities the Island has to offer! This resort is perfect for families and couples alike!

Property is gorgeous and the pool is wonderful for children. Resort fee tack on to price is a rip off. Room has mildewed tile in tub but comfortable beds.

It a nice place. My kids loved the pool area and slide. The restaurants was a bit pricey especially Rays On The Bay. But the staff was very friendly.

perfect location bad hotel

Posted Mar 29, 2015
Pros: location and staff
Cons: interior
Location: it is better to drive to town
Hotel is in very good location (with no access to the ocean) and friendly staff. But the interior of the room was purely build and maintained. Kind of depressing concrete building with very few pictures, or other decorations which would make stay more enjoyable. Breakfast is also nothing special - if you plan to stay longer you fin only few choices.

のんびりと過ごせるホテルです。

Posted Mar 26, 2015
Pros: マンタツアーが毎日行われています。ホテルのディナーは結構いけました。
Cons:

Sehr schönes Hotel mit guter Gesamtausstattung

Posted Mar 22, 2015
