Country CottagePosted Feb 16, 2014
Pros: Unique quality. Comfy atmosphere.
Cons: Would have appreciated meeting hosts but understand they could have been busy.
Location: Near Volcano National Park. Lots to see and do. The Park is open 24 hours - so easy to return to in the night to see the "Glow".
Arrived late in afternoon to find cottage open and welcoming. There was a button combination lock for the door which we didn't know the code for so we were unable to leave our luggage there. It didn't matter as we went off to explore the surrounding area and have a meal. When we returned - lights were on and candles were lit and a welcoming note left by hosts encouraging us to help ourselves to food and drink. Rooms were very comfortable as was the bed. In the morning we helped ourselves to food from the fridge and made up a tropical fruit salad from all the different fruit supplied. We never did see or meet our hosts who obviously live OSS site somewhere. There were phone numbers left so that we could have contacted them if we had to.
