“A great holiday destination”

For my daughter, myself and two grandchildren this was our first trip to Hawaii and it more than exceeded expectations. The hotel was beautiful, the gardens, with their exotic tropical plants and waterfalls, were a delight and the staff could not have been more courteous and accommodating. Everyone we spoke to was extremely helpful, even finding a flashlight for us one evening when we decide to explore the coastline after dark! The food was delicious and beautifully presented if a little expensive but we had come prepared not to let that mar our enjoyment. The little fridge in the room and the small local supermarket did help. The beach and pool were never crowded and the sea turtles did indeed come up on the beach every afternoon. We wanted to see as much of the island as we could and did lots of trips so we were not able to avail ourselves of the activities laid on for kids in the hotel. However we did see craft work and just wished we were there for longer so that we could have participated too. The 'Gathering of the Kings" luau on our last night was a spectacular show and our holiday was a great success.

“Beautiful, Quiet hotel convenient yet outside of the tourist trap area of Kona”

The Fairmont Orchid was lovely- a very calm, adult setting- although there were many children. The beach and views were beautiful as were the rooms. I was very pleased with the resort and my stay there.

“Beautiful Getaway”

Enjoyed our stay. Great little cove beach and some real nice snorkeling just north of that point (saw lots of turtles). Room was great with a nice veranda overlooking the ocean as well as the large courtyard that contained the pool, restuarant, and garden. Hotel is secluded from development so you have an opportunity to relax and appreciate Hawaii at its best. Look forward to coming back soon.

“Best resort on the island”

Best place to stay on the island. Small beach on resort allowed for great snorkeling opportunities. Rooms weren't grandiose, but they were nice. Expect to travel 30mins or more to get to anything. Outside dining opportunities allowed for gorgeous sunset dining. Everyone was very accommodating, with even a complimentary room if you have to check out early, but your plane leaves late. Would very highly recommend the Fairmont as a luxury resort. I was on my honeymoon, and have no regrets with the Fairmont.

“Orchid Hotel is our pick of many Hawaii hotels. Divers will not be disappointed!”

This Hotel earns a high star rating in our opinion based on fair price for such a great experience. Main points are exceptional location with premere Scuba, golf, charm and finishing touches that are the Hawaii experience all can enjoy. Beach/reef coastline makes for great variety of scenary for walking/running/exploring. Sea turtles are common on the shoreline. Great for younger kids/toddlers. Scuba with the dive guys at the resort area BoatHouse is our favorite of all the Hawaii dive spots. They offer a breakfast plan which offers everything imaginable for american/continental/asian diets. Geniune hospitality from all employees of the resort. We have returned 4 times over the last 7 years.

“An oasis of understated luxury, calm and beauty on the Big Island”

If you want to get away from the mass Tourism of Honolulu, this hotel is the place to be. One of the nicest properties on the big island of Hawaii with wide open spaces, terraces, lounges and bars and possibly the nicest in the Fairmont chain's tropical destinations portfolio. Food was very good. Rooms well appointed - even the basic category has a partial ocean view. Great service and a beautiful pool landscape. The spa offerings were extensive with the option of having the treatments done outside in a Cabana.

“Best Service and Best Hotel Ever!!”

I've been in the Royal Hawaiian in Oahu, and the Fairmont Kea Lani at Maui, but this one is the best of the best. Great Hotel, Excellent Attention, they even gave us an upgrade to an oceanview room in the first night we got there. Tey have a beatiful view at the Pauo'a Bay and yes, there's sea turtles everywhere. If you go, have to do the Spa without walls, simply amazing. Rent a car and go explore Big Island, nicest island of all, The Volcano, Mauna Kea, Waipi'o Valley, is a very nice place to vacation.

“The Fairmont Orchid was outstanding!”

Our stay was amazing. We booked an Ocean View room and we were upgraded to the Fairmont Gold level. There the service was superb! Anything we needed- they provided. There was a continental breakfast, snacks and drinks all day and the small appetizers in the evening. The gold level was amazing, but the rest of the staff was so friendly, helpful and remembered who you were. Even the Valet remembered our names and where we were from. Other hotels do not offer this level of customer service. The Fairmont Orchid has it right! We cannot wait to stay there again!
