had a pretty good time the breakfast could have been better but anything we needed help with was meet with a smile and was corrected immediatly. had some rowdy young men staying above us but when we complained to the front desk they sent someone up to address it right away! would definitly stay here again!

“Really Retro!”

Uncle Billy's is an older hotel which has a lot of 1950's charm with 21st century amenities. The elevators may be a little slow, but at only 4 stories, the steps are very convenient. They serve a good continental breakfast at the pool, which is adequate for most needs, including my 4 year old granddaughter. The gardens are lush and the midcentury archetecture is appealing. I especially enjoyed the wooden sliding doors on our lenai. The location of Uncle Billy's is right in the heart of the action in Kona. You can walk to most of the reastaurants and clubs as well as the harbor right across the street. We only stayed one night here, but it was a pleasant stay and one that I would repeat. I give them a 4 out of 5.

“Hotel Conditions”

We stayed in this hotel for one night while waiting to get into our timeshare. It was totally satifactory for our needs. The breakfast in the morning was great. Everyone was very polite. Across the street from the ocean. It was noisy being downtown Kona. The street sweepers and garbage men were noisy early in the morning.

“great hotel, great location”

located right in the middle of the action, we really enjoyed our stay here. all the rooms face the ocean, and it was convenenient to walk down to the buffet breakfast, they even gave us a free appetizer coupon to a nearby restaurant. souvenier shops, restaurants, and everything elsewas within walking distance and the closest beach (magic sands) was a mere 10 minutes away driving. we would love to come back and stay again in the future :)

“Will go there again and again.”

We were totally surprised by this 45 yr. young family hotel: It was updated, clean, quiet, roomy. The 4th floor gave us a nice view on the Pool area, Ali'i St. and downtown. You hear the ocean which is close. Uncle Billy came to the breakfast area almost every morning to Thank everybody for staying in his hotel. He has a nice Hotel on the Hilo side as well. Would make sense to book some days there as well, beats all the driving. Free b/f buffett was included. It's a cozy Hotel and not a Hilton. We were totally happy with Uncle Billy's - go, check it out yourself.

“Good value for the money”

We stayed at Uncle Billy's overnight; our other reservations were for set dates and the best plane fares had us landing a day early. The hotel was exactly what we expected -- clean and inexpensive. The rooms could use updating, and there are no ocean views from the balconies, but it's a great value for the price. There's a small pool and hot tub, which our kids loved, and you're in walking distance of the farmers market/tourist bazaar which provided a lovely source of souvenirs. Breakfast is toast, juice & coffee, english muffins, sweet rolls, and papaya (presumably fruit would rotate seasonally) -- nothing grand, but again, very serviceable.I wish they didn't use styro plates and cups though. I wouldn't stay here expecting a five star experience, but for the price, I'd recommend it highly.

“Reasonably priced for a great location!”

We arrived late in the evening and had no problem checking in. The room was nice and clean. Good value.

This is an older hotel, but clean and well maintaned. Easy walking distance to all of te bayfront activities. Free public parking behind the hotel. The "coontinental breakfast" is pretty skimpy with few choices.
