Thank you for taking the time to post your comments. All feedback is an important element of our business and we value your comments. There are many family activities in our area, but some require driving. It’s a big island, there is a lot to explore, and we agree, Kona is a larger city. We do hope to welcome you back again to the Big Island of Hawaii in the future.

Koi Pond and Towels at Beach GonePosted Jun 25, 2014
Although our stay was great, there were recent changes ti the hitel that were disappointing. The koi pond and the towel service at the beach were gone. Also, we have stayed at this hotel five times but they do not seem to know this when we check in each time. And although our stay was great, they have cheap looking plastic lighting fixtures in the entry way that look like they were bought at Kmart. They used to have beautiful carpet entry with amtique canoes and authentic Hawaiian music in entry way. The fire pits on balcony and nuce sitting area are a plus. They may have deleted the art gallery too. We did not see it.great hotel but missed Hawaiian decor in entry.

comfortable rooms always awaited usPosted Jun 24, 2014
Pros: The three pools were beautiful and our kids loved that they never closed.
Cons: The refrigerator in our room was very noisy but we truly appreciated having one in the rooms.
Location: The hotel was center to many of our excursions: the north end had horseback riding, the east side had the botanical garden, and the south had volcanoes
We had a busy away from the hotel experience for much of our stay. We would look forward to clean , comfortable rooms upon our return. The staff always greeted us with a smile and an Aloha (from the gardeners, housekeeping, store clerks, pool attendants, etc)

Good location with great beach accessPosted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: I liked the views and the location on the beach and next to the King and Queen shops and the food at the hotel restaurant and pool were excellent.
Cons: More umbrellas in the pool area.
We are Silver Elite members and hold a Marriott Visa. Upon check in we were told that we are slated for a ground floor pool view room but she could give us a higher floor. She put us on the top floor and we had a beautiful pool and ocean view. The rooms are small but comfortable. I had come from a week at the Fairmont Orchid and the little details were missing - no make up mirror, no turn down service, no shower cap, q-tips or cotton balls, but the bed was comfortable and clean. I was disappointed that there were only 7-9 umbrellas at the pool. There were several cabanas but they were $50 a day rental and really the only good option for shade at the pool. Tradewinds were up and the pool attendants lowered the umbrellas most days we were there.

Loved our stayPosted Jun 15, 2014
My boyfriend and I had an amazing time at the Marriott. We went to the big island for a wedding and the Marriott was in the perfect location. Their is an abc store only 2 min walk away for breakfast foods and lunch. The gym and pool area are great. The beach at the front of the mariott is amazing!

Awesome!Posted Jun 15, 2014
Pros: The pool was great, the beach access was convenient and it was a nice beach. The view was amazing and the staff was awesome.
Location: The shopping and restaurants nearby were convenient. The Lava Lava Beach Club was very yummy, had a good atmosphere and a fantastic view of the sunset
We had such a wonderful time! We will definitely stay there again if we come back to the big island!

Smoking facilitiesPosted Jun 9, 2014
Cons: See above
Only thing that upset us was the smokers gathering down immediately in front of our ocean front room on two bench seats provided by the hotel and ash trays. There was always people there and the smell of smoke did not compliment our wonderful view. Why provide guests with a smoking area in front if your most expensive rooms? We stayed in rm 6153

Great Beach AccessPosted Jun 8, 2014
Pros: Good location, convenient and away from traffic of Kona city area. But a short drive and you can enjoy.
Location: Shops and restaurants within walking distance.
Great room overlooking bay and beach. Pools okay, not enough shade to go around but if you like sitting in the sun this is the place. Tours available from on site staff and we experienced several. Nice to have shopping and restaurant options with in walking distance. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We truly enjoyed our stay and will be back again.
