Excellent hotel & timeshares right by the water

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: Cleanliness of the facilities, staff, ample parking, great location.
I had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the Wyndham Kona. Our suite was beyond spacious with a large living room, full kitchen, king size beds, bath tub and more bathroom sinks than we knew what to do with. The location is prime being less than a mile from downtown Kona and the infamous Da Poke Shack. Parking is ample and there's no extra charge for it unlike a number of other resorts on the Big Island. The staff was always friendly and having one of the Expedia guides on site was extremely helpful in deciding on activities, restaurants, bars, etc. For what we paid as part of our hotel & flight package, I'd happily return.

Nice hotel in Kona - Big Island

Posted Jun 15, 2014
Pros: The lanai
Location: The location is excellent for access to all roadways for you Big Island adventure. Within walking distance is access to the beautiful Kona coastline.
This is a nice, comfortable and convenient hotel on the beautiful Kona coast. The facilities are excellent - the full kitchen and barbecue grill outside allows you to prepare any type meal you desire. All kinds of shops and restaurants are nearby for your special needs. Walk to the beach -walk to town - or just unwind on the lanai. Or just hop in the car and take in the Big Island.....

Lovely garden setting and a easy walk into Kona.

Posted May 27, 2014
Pros: The garden settling and the quiet grounds, two small pools and the fact we can walk I to town.
Cons: Update our suite, know it is privately owned, but could use a wee fresh up.
Location: Walk into Kona, enjoy the food at Hugo's, the piano bar is great when Lee is playing. The market and small shops are a pleasure.
Lovely stay, weather was sadly not in our favour. Kona is still a delightful, easy going place to be. The island still offers so many things to do and see, from diving to the top of the world, enjoy!

Nice hotel in walking distance to downtown Kona

Posted May 5, 2014
Pros: The hotel is close enough that you can walk into the town of Kona (also known as the town with NO parking). The walk is a little less than a mile.
Cons: We thought that everything was great.
Location: Very good location to hit the beaches, the town of Kona, and to basically drive anywhere you want on the Island. We did stay overnight in Volcano.
Our experience here was pleasant and the condo was perfect with a nice view including some water. We arrived early and the staff quickly found us a condo ready for occupancy. It has a nice porch on the second floor, two flat screen TVs, two bathrooms, and a kitchen with coffee, filters, and all the usual utensils. They do require a parking pass (free) and they check the passes for those trying to enter the grounds during evening hours. They do push their activities and we attended the session but found nothing interesting for us, as we were their to hike and scuba dive. This place would be perfect for families or groups of 4. You can save a bundle by eating breakfast (or most meals for that matter!) in before the day starts. If you fly in during business hours, hit the Costco first, not far from the airport, and load up on supplies.

Everything you need in once place, great location

Posted Apr 28, 2014
Pros: Fresh flowers
Cons: A convenient store with in the facility could be great.
Location: Close to the town, can easily walk to stores, restaurants and beaches. Convenient.
The resort is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and clean. Walk-able distance to town, close to a couple of beaches, great coffee places; small town feel, we loved it. We spent 3 days here and would gladly go there again. The staff are quite helpful and the spirit of Hawaii is felt everywhere.

All of the comforts of home

Good location, friendly staff, spacious accomodation, felt like home. Shower in master needs a better way to contain the water - but an otherwise excellent place to stay.
