"Lovely condo/ hotel close to everything"
We had a wonderful time at the Kona Coast Resort, beautiful grounds, nice well kept older condo villa, with a lovely spacious lanai ( which we spent most of our time, when at the resort), quiet, great staff, could not be more pleased. Close to town, shopping and only a few minutes to the main highway. Will visit again.

"Great hotel in Great location"
Loved the hotel. The only things they could improve on is that No Cost WIFI could be offered to their guests and the hotel could have free parking since you need a car on the big island. Great location and from my room I even got to see the nightly luau. Had a great time.

My wife and I stayed at the Hapuna Prince Resort for 13 days and enjoyed every minute of it. What a beautiful resort and surronding areas. The only downfall about the resort was the amount of restaurants to choose from. Being that your are 30 minutes outside of the bid city, Kona, there are not a lot of options for food nearby. 20 min drive to Weimea which is worth the drive at least once a day for some good local food or 5 minute drive to the harbor for some more expensive restaurants. Can't forget to get your Hawiaan Shaved Ice from the Orginal Shaved Ice Company (Truck parked next to the Blue Dragon).

"Comfort"
We had made arrangements at another location but were very unsatisfied so went back to where we had stayed before at Hilo Hawaiian and had a very good stay. When I checked in I was given a room with 2 separate beds but had requested a king size bed. Calling down to the desk they had a nice king size bed room available and we had a great stay there. It was very comfortable and we were grateful for the a/c.

    Where to stay in Hawaii

    Big Island Hotel Guide

Richardson’s Ocean Park - Head the black-sand beaches of Richardson’s Ocean Park. This spot in the Hilo region boasts rock pools and surf spots. Kids can play in the pools, which are protected by a natural seawall, while experienced surfers can shred up the break. Don’t miss a tour of the Richardson family home, which was built along the shore in the 1920s.

Akaka Falls - The Akaka Falls State Park features two of Hawaii’s most noteworthy waterfalls: Kahuna Falls and Akaka Falls. Kahuna Falls is 100-feet tall, while Akaka Falls is an impressive 442 feet. Visitors can walk along the half-mile paved trail to arrive at these majestic waterfalls in the middle of the rain forest.
