Karla was wonderful to deal with. The room was luxurious . The hotel itself was perfectly situated. The meal at Pacifica (recommended by The Dome ) was superb

Luxury room in great locationPosted May 16, 2013
Pros: Very comfortable bed
Cons: No view. The doors across the fridge and hanging space drove us crazy!- couldn't make. Cup of tea without moving them about 3 times!
Location: On the waterfront, walking distance to everything
Booking and greeting handled efficiently and pleasantly by Karla. Lovely large room with luxury furnishings and linen. Good free wifi. We found the bed extremely comfortable too. Nice teas, coffee and muesli. The Dome is very well located on the waterfront near the Masonic Hotel, the isite and a short walk to the shops. We were disappointed that our only views were of rooftops, from both the main room and the bathroom.

Great location.Posted May 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Dome is serviced apartment accommodation, something I didn't realise until a couple of days before our arrival (when I tried to confirm our arrival time). The Studio Suite we had was bright and spacious. The fittings were of a high quality. Two small grips were that there are no tissues supplied in the room and only one piece of soap. Surely it's not too much to expect one for the basin and one for the shower.

Home sweet DomePosted Apr 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
Great location, service and amenities. Appreciate the barbecue grill, rooftop dunking pool and hot tub. Exceptional that as Dame studio 2 was unoccupied they gave us access for our young son. Only negative was that true ocean view is not possible from Dame studios, but all the positives more than made up for it. Napier was fun as well.

Comfort and Privacy in NapierPosted Dec 31, 2012
Pros: Both the room and service!
Cons: Parking was not convenient and construction took place on the same street about 50 metres away.
Location: Great location across from the beach and accessible to main routes.
A friend and I stayed at The Dome in early November. Because the hotel was not full, they upgraded our room without additional cost. This room was much nicer than most apartments, and yet very private. The art deco style of architecture, design, and furniture was very well done. The kitchen had nice extras such as snacks, milk, and granola. There was ample closet space. Great bathroom! It was very large with upgraded features, and wonderful toiletries. This 2nd floor room opened out onto a private patio with a small pool, hot tub, barbeque grill, and lounge seating. With sliding glass doors open, it becomes an extension of the living area, making the "hotel room" feel more like a house. There was also a washer/dryer (with detergent and dryer sheets) available for use, in a small room off the patio, at no extra charge. It's a great touch after a week of traveling! The owner, Kath, made a brief and courteous appearance to ensure we were satisfied. Another gentleman, whose name escapes me, was very accommodating and recommended places for dinner, vineyards, and local not-to-miss attractions. The only negative was that parking was about 2 blocks away, which made it inconvenient to carry luggage, and shopping bags up to the room. As well, the hotel is on a main road that follows the beach. There is construction happening just down this street, in several areas. Overall, I would highly recommend staying at The Dome while in Napier, especially if you like your privacy.

THE DOMEPosted Apr 22, 2012
Pros: The spacious room within such a grand building and the hot tub on the roof.
Cons: Poor views from our room and that we were then unable to use the common lounge to enjoy the expanse of the ocean views which is the reason we booked.
Location: Napier NZ
The introduction to the hotel was lacking in professionalism. I felt I was wasting the operator's valuable time and that she simply wanted to give me the keys and leave.
