Cons: the staff and the service
Location: good location
we stayed at this hotel last year about the same time of the year and we we really impressed with everything. Not so this time. We go to the Haydock races a few times a year but normally we drive home when it is finished. On some occasions we will stay overnight in a Hotel. This years stay at the Ramada will be our last after the way we were treated. Everything was fine when we checked in and we were given our key to the room. it was later on when we came back to the Hotel that the problems started. We were in a group of more than 10 people and we were not the only guests who were in the bar. We certainly were not rowdy or drunk. There were only 2 staff on who were serving but only 1 of them was doing the bar service. i think he was trying to do all the jobs on his own (bar service, food service etc). We stood waiting at the bar to be served but we got no acknowledgement for the bar tender. Somebody from another group happened to raise there voice about the service but the bar tender seemed to try and blame our group for this.and suddenly threatened to close the bar. We just about got a drink when he then told us the bar was being closed for the night because he did not want to stay late because he had to be back in work at 6 30am. I can understand his worries about this but that is not our problem if you dont have more staff. I think his name was John, assistant manager. all the other guests were unhappy about this but we could not do anything about it.

A VERY GOOD , GREETING UPON ARRIVAL BY YOUR RECEPTIONIST , OUR ROOM WAS BASIC BUT AS EXPECTED , WARM AND COMFORTABLE ,ROOM SERVICE WAS FAST AND PLEASANT , WE WERE TATALY SATISFIED , AND HAVE PLESURE IN RECOMENDING .

Great hotel very clean modern friendly staff the only down side for us was that we couldn't got our room till after two o clock not a problem as it says room from two but we was at a wedding and had to hot changed in toilets not good at all not so bad for the men but nightmare for the women

This was my first time in this hotel. It's quite standard, nothing special. No wifi in rooms and phone signal is very poor. So if you are staying for business, do take this into consideration.

The staff were very helpful, friendly and understanding and went out of their way to accomodate us at a very stressful time. The only downside was that the room was situated next to the East Lancs motorway and was very noisy, otherwise everything else was spot on.
