"Excellent food, friendly staff."
I chose the Edinburgh Grosvenor as I have stayed there some time ago through my work. I was a little disappointed as we were booked into a room over the road in the Hilton Townhouse hotel and the room, although clean and comfy, was almost as a servants room. As we walked in, there was a door in front which turned out to be the wardrobe/storeroom, and a door to the left which led to the bedroom, through which another door led to the bathroom.
In the wardrobe, a wardrobe pole and clothes hangers were positioned under a shelf where the spare bed cover was stored, but apart from that shelf and the top of the safe where the iron, hairdryer and fan where kept, there were no drawers in any of the rooms to store clothing that didn't require hanging. The bathroom was clean, though the modern wash basin was too shallow and as the water flow was quite powerful, resulted in water splashing over onto the shelf where the basin stood. The hot water also took some time to come through. All in all, no major problem.
However, moan over! The hotel staff were as friendly and helpful as I remember, and the restaurant, and food were excellent. One of the reasons I wanted to stay here again was for the breakfast, a fantastic choice of foods for all tastes, and if what you wanted wasn't on the buffet, the staff would prepare it freshly for you, within reason of course. We also had dinner in the restaurant, the waiters recommendations were excellent, and again, the food was cooked to perfection.
