Noisy room suitable only for heavy sleepersPosted Jul 26, 2014
Pros: Apart from above, this was a lovely B&B in a gorgeous setting. With a quieter room, this would have been a perfect relaxing weekend away from the kids
Cons: Soundproofing the eaves which hold the water system. Not invalidating our huge disappointment at not being able to lie in,this was very important to us
Location: Lovely walks nearby to enjoy the picturesque countryside.
There was a very noisy water system in the eaves of the room which woke us up at 6.30am when the host had to get up. This was a rare night away from small children, so we were desperately needing and looking forward to a long overdue lie in to recharge our batteries. This, to us, was one of the main benefits of the night away, so it was hugely disappointing not to be able to have a couple of extra hours sleep. This had a big impact on our whole weekend and it was further disappointing when there seemed to be a lack of understanding when the issue was regrettably raised. He did apologise but it was followed with the fact that it was the cheapest of the 3 rooms they had, the water system had to go somewhere and that was the time he had to get up. It was also pointed out that he hadn't had other complaints. Unless other guests were very heavy sleepers I find it hard to believe they wouldn't have been woken up. Maybe they could get back to sleep quicker, so it bothered them less, but it takes me a long time to get back to sleep and each time before I could, it would go off again. I don't think the price of the room should mean that we should expect to be woken up early, so don't feel that is a justification. If we were expecting to be woken up that early we wouldn't have booked at all. Such a shame, as the rest of the place was to a very high standard and a thoroughly lovely, peaceful, relaxing setting. It was lovely to be in the countryside with the cat, dogs and chickens.

We had such a great time with Jo and Andy who were very patient with our puppy. He loved meeting the other dogs, who were superbly behaved. Breakfast was delicious and the room was of a real 5* standard. Couldn't recommend more highly. We will be staying there again the next time we are in the area!

An absolute jewel !Posted Jun 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
What a find! We had a wonderful warn welcome by Jo and her delightful dogs. Our room was beautiful and very very comfortable. The shower was heavenly & I could have stayed in it for hours. Fluffy dressing gowns in the wardrobe, the best quality towels and bed linen. The breakfast was superb. We stayed there because we were visiting nearby relatives, but would love to stay there again ( and not tell the relatives).Incredible value for money. We would certainly recommend this jewel of a Bed and Breakfast.
