"Spacious room close to central train station (Hbf)"
I arrived before 11am and my room was ready. I booked a regular room, but got a free upgrade to a suite without being even told so; no complaint. I requested a quite and hight floor room. My room was on the fifth floor (American way. They call it fourth floor) and back street. I felt I was the only person in the whole bluilding. The room size is at least four times average 4 stars by North American standard.
It is less than ten minutes walk from the central train station, but the hotel instruction on the web was a little confusing. Follow Google map instead. It is about twenty minutes walk to the castle.

The check in was a long drawn affair, not know why though we paid by cash. Though we had asked for adjacent rooms, they gave us rooms opposite one another only after request. We were asked to pay a deposit of 50 Euros which was not expected.
Rooms were very comfortable and bed lovely to sleep in. Spa facility was enjoyed by the family. No wifi in our rooms though it was deluxe rooms !! Not happy. The highlight was the breakfast which thankfully was free with the booking we made through Expedia. Very good variety even for vegetarians like us. View from the rooms were nice facing the river. Staff were OK but nothing great. Though there were tea coffee making facilities no milk for tea ! We had to ask for some. Overall nice facilities but could be improved.

"Good stay, only internet in the room disappointed"
We arrived around noon and they checked us into our room straight away. My wife was ill from the flight; getting rest was very helpful. The front desk staff also provided directions to a local clinic. The room was clean and comfy. The breakfast was ample - however, if you are looking for the signature cinnamon rolls, you won't find them. Regardless, breakfast satisfied. The only disappointment was the wireless internet. In the room, the signal was weak and disconnected frequently. In the breakfast area, the signal was strong and very usable. Overall, we'd stay there again.

A pleasant experience overall, but the breakfast options were limited. $24 for full buffet breakfast, which is outrageous. Or you could have free rolls and coffee IF you got there between 4 - 6 AM.

5 stars across the board except this one issue: stairs are unavoidable. There is a lift but to access reception and our room, it simply took us to a place where we used different stairs. This isn't uncommon with old buildings so I'll give them something of a pass (4 stars for the facility).
Reception was efficient, the room was large and appropriately appointed, the beds were decent, the breakfast was very nice, and the location is outstanding. Walk to most things and easy access to busses to the train station. They earn their good reviews.

Amongst the warmest regions in Germany, Heidelberg is a picturesque riverside town set in a steep valley in the Odenwald. Home to one of Europe's oldest universities, the city is abundant with history, owing its rustic charm to the baroque surroundings which were spared during WWII. The Gothic castle looms over the Old Town, where visitors can explore narrow streets and browse the local market.
