Recommended: The hotel is very modern and has a lovely view of the river. Its a very plesant 5 minute walk from the centre of the oldtown which in summer is very busy with tourists from all over Europe. The rooms are very quiet and a bit larger than your normal hotel room. Recommended: This 5 star hotel which I got at a promotional price was ideal to explore Dresden as it was situated just across the river. Recommended: Hotel was the best location to see the historic area of Dresden. The one negative was that we weren't traveling with our own computer, and we used the lobby's internet service which charged in 4 minute, 10 minute, 1 hr. increments. Recommended: Extremely nice location close to everything. We are very happy to have found this place to stay. One bedroom and living room. It's great to have the kitchen and a wash machine during our stay. Restaurants are just all around the location. Only complain is that you have to walk up the stairs to the reception office. If you travel with more than 2 people, just have one person watch the stuff downstairs, while the other person check in to avoid carrying luggages up to the reception office. Also be aware of the taxi service next to this place. We had a bad taxi driver who charged us 30 euro to go to Schloss Moritzburg while it should only cost less than 25 eruo. He drove more to jack up the price and even though we told him to stop already. So ask for a price before you take taxi to schloss Moritzburg. Also the reception people are not helpful to give much details, they would rather you take a tour through them which costs 80 euro per person. It's also possible to take S bahn and bus to schloss Moritzburg, but find out the bus schedule first because the bus only goes there like once an hour, otherwise it's the most economic way. Recommended: If you want to be in THE BEST LOCATED hotel in Dresden, go to the Hilton! With friendly hotel staff, very clean rooms, white down comforters, wonderful view and the absolute best location in Dresden. Don´t hesitate to go to the best breakfast buffet, there in the Hilton!!!!! You will be astonished with the service and comfort of this hotel. We stayed at the normal rooms and the last day at the business rooms, and all of them are wonderful. I took some perfect pictures of Dresden from my room!!!! Go there! See all reviews for this hotel

Recommended: The location of the hotel was superb--right in the middle of everything, yet it afforded quiet and privacy when we wanted it. Our rooms were spacious, clean and well appointed. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. We did not use the hotel dining services simply because there was an incredible wealth of ethnic and Saxon cuisine restaurants only a stone's throw from the hotel and each day of our week became an adventure with great food part of it. Our one and only regret, although it was a major regret, was that we could stay only seven nights. It is a regret that we do not intend to have repeated on our next trip to Dresden. We will definitely stay longer at the Steigenberger Hotel de Saxe. My paternal heritage is from Dresden. This was my first trip home. I am so proud to be a saxon. See all reviews for this hotel
