only in a third world country should a place be so disgusting and filthy. Only stayed due to last room in Helen due to Octoberfest. My family and I were never able to shower that one night, we chose to stay sweaty from our day instead of using the the bathroom. It was better to use the outdoors than the bathroom. NEVER again.

Dump Motel

Posted Sep 29, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything!
This Motel was a dump! A hole in the wall where a vent was located was covered with blue electrical tape and a band-aid was even taped to it. It had fallen onto the floor and the hole was open. We stuffed a pillow in the hole because we were afraid that "any" type of creature could come crawling through! One of the staff had a room there and her kids were there during our stay. They were crying and coughing and were very pitiful. The lady on staff (janitorial) was always loud and fussing with them. There were gnats in our room. It was a very bad experience! I would not recommend this to anyone!

NOT HAPPY

Posted Sep 29, 2014
not happy the room was run down , to much money for this room. The staff nice, rooms to run down for what you paid for. Will never stay at a Day's Inn, this is the second one in 3 weeks , not happy .(both the same) .

Old and out of date.

First walked in to a musty smell with a few flies and nats flying around. The bathroom needed lots of work. The towels had stains on them. Not the Worst I've stayed at, but not worth what I paid.

OK place to stay at a cheap price.

Cons: The carpet in the rooms needed to be cleaned and/or replaced. More towels and washrags in the room. Cleaner pool.
Location: Walking distance to local shopping, food, entertainment, tubing.
Stayed here for a girl's weekend. The room was clean but it smelled like pee when you first went into the room. I guess we got used to the smell after awhile. There was only 1 towel in the bathroom, but the laundry room was down the hall so we walked down ourselves and got some more. The pool looked very cloudy so we didn't use it. The man working the front desk was extremly nice and very accomidating so that was a plus. I would recommend this hotel if you want somewhere relatively cheap that's within walking distance to downtown Helen. I probably wouldn't stay here with my kids, but for a weekend getaway it wasn't that bad. Free coffee and muffins for breakfast.
