“Good stay for cost”

It was off season when I went to stay here, and there was construction going on. They start the construction around 8 am, and it was very noisy. The room was nice and neat, and they kept us well stocked with towels. The pool was warm even though there was a bit of a chill in the air. Check-in and out were very easy.

“Could have been worse....”

It was exactly what you would have expected from a Super 8 Motel. Everyone was nice and everything was clean. The lady at the desk even upgraded our room, but seriously...exactly what you would expect from a holel of that quality.

“A good place to stay for the price”

If you are looking for a five star motel then of course you will have to look else where. This is a Motel 8. Since I usually only book a motel to sleep in and not to spend my vacation in, this motel was more than adequate. A good value and great location. Within walking distance to most everything in town. By the way, if you go to Helen you have to eat at Big Daddy's. A great restaurant I highly recommend it.

“Decent place and convenient to walk into Helen”

Most importantly the hotel is convenient to quickly walk into downtown Helen - it's a 2 min walk. Secondly - it is one of the more reasonably priced hotels in the area. With that said - the room was comfortable and the staff was reasonable friendly. Our only issue was the general cleanliness of the room itself - it was just slightly less clean than we would have liked - we like things really clean :)

“Great location in helen”

I enjoyed my stay at the Super 8 in Helen, GA. What I liked about the room was: reasonably priced, walking distance to downtown Helen, and very good continental breakfast. Also the hotel staff were very nice. What I did not like about the room was: the air conditioning was not very cool, and there were live and dead gnats in the room.

“Will come back again!”

Everyone was really nice and helpful. The room wasn't anything fantastic but was clean and in a great location and was very cheap. It was located right in Helen so we could walk to all the shops.

the gentleman that check us in, Greg, was excellent... he conveys a truly customer service oriented attitude... overall for the price the place was great.

“Good enough for a few night stay”

Room was clean and staff was friendly. Not the greatest hotel, but again for a clean room and bed for a few nights it worked fine.

“The kinda, sorta "OK" Super 8”

I had booked this motel online before going. It had good reviews. However, being from Atlanta & being used to more upscale hotels, I found the motel to be below average. We had a smoking, king suite & it looked like an aged motel from the '80s. Nothing was 21st century in this motel. It was marginally clean. Meaning the jacuzzi was clean & so was the room, but it, the motel & grounds are very dated & worn looking...that made you feel it wasn't as clean as it could be. They really should RENOVATE ASAP to keep quality clientele. The customer svc was OK..we didn't get a lot of the smiles & super friendliness as previous reviews indicated...However, our requests were made promptly & politely. The pool towels were small. The room smelled a bit. But I assume that was because it was a smoking room. My husband smokes but, he doesn't smoke inside, so I'm not used to that smell. They could work on freshening up the scent in the smoking rooms. Even though people might smoke doesn't mean they want to stay in a room that smells like ancient, stale cigarettes. The bedspread even though it was washed still had stains on the underside..so, I left it on the floor. The air conditioner is the old kind, so it's very loud. I think I'm the average type traveler. I don't have over the top expectations. But this place was simply...eh..OK. It was stayable & that was about it...expect a no frills experience. The location was good..as it was almost downtown...so we could walk to things & that was nice.
