Booked 3 nights at the Intercontinental Times Square for a private lounge/showroom popup for out-of-town customers. This is the 3rd time we've done it since 2012, and each time we've come away even more convinced that this property is the best for our purposes for a number of reasons: (1) THE STAFF is exceedingly pleasant and helpful in every way. I lost my parking ticket for the lot across the street and the hotel doorman didn't hesitate to walk with me to the parking lot to make sure I got my car with no additional expense or headache. NY gets such a bum rap for folks who are too hurried and short on patience. This property just makes feeling at home in the big city so easy because they make you feel like you're in good hands (special shout out to bellmen Elvis and Johanssen). (2) LOCATION is as great as it's going to be for a midtown Manhattan location. Far enough away from the tourist throngs that can run you right over, but a couple of blocks away from the heart of Times Square. If you are driving, it is a typically unclogged straight shot along 44th Street off the West Side Highway. Across the street from the neatest, most professional (and honest-- we forgot a laptop in the car and came back for it when we realized it an hour later and it was still there) parking garage that obviates the need for $65 hotel valet parking, and the hotel will validate your ticket for a discounted rates ($25 incl tax for overnight). And you're right on top of Shake Shack =)!

Our stay in New York was everything we had imagined and we can say that it did indeed live up to our expectations. The city is very alive and exciting. The sights and sounds will be remembered for a lifetime and we made sure that we saw and experienced as much as was physically possible during our week's stay. One must always have a plan beforehand with options and recommendations gleaned from guide books, and friends or family who have visited the city, particularly in recent times. Be prepared to make changes to scheduled plans and always have an alternative in place should the need arise. We made a good fist of ticking off our most important options on the master list of must do's and maybe do's. A very friendly city with good transport - the subway and trains were a pleasant surprise with no graffiti in sight. We will remember the poor state of many of the roads but in many instances this is due to either the numerous developments being erected or refurbished, or to the extremes of winter and summer weather that plays havoc with roading. We will remember the masses of eateries, large and small, the freshness of the food and extensive choices offered any time of the day and night.
We had amazing views from the Rockefeller Centre in daytime and the Empire State at night. Central Park is huge and you need a good pair of shoes as we walked miles in the city during our stay.

"Great hotel at a great price, close to everything!"
Hotel was in a great location, good price, hotel staff were fantastic, and room was clean - all musts for me! Big bonus of breakfast being included too! Would definitely recommend this to anyone going to NYC who are not concerned with staying in a fancy hotel, but want a nice hotel in a great location and at a fair price. Good value for your money!

The hotel isn't located anywhere special, but from the moment we entered the staff made our stay awesome. They offered chocolate bars to our kids when we checked in, they were more than willing to hold our bags after check out even though we came back after check out to change clothes from the charity walk we participated in. They didn't even want to accept the tip, but I made them. Lastly, the guy who ran and serviced the morning breakfast service was in such a good mood and put us in equally as good a mood. Great stay all around.
