“Good Hotel with a good deal”

Hotel is very clean and well furnished, good restaurant and Bar., very friendly.

“The staff really made it for us.”

We selected the hotel because of its proximity to the Opera house and assumed its 4 stars would ensure sufficient comfort. The bricks, mortar and furnishings made it extremely comfortable but the response and responsiveness of the staff made the experience especially enjoyable. All requests were handled with a genuine smile and a sense of wanting to make our stay enjoyable. We normally do not eat in hotel restaurants, wishing to get a wider experience. However the internal restaurant had high quality food, which was good value for money and more than comparable with other restaurants, so we ate in on all four nights we stayed.

“Overall quite good however breakfast was not included”

Generally quite good hotel. I gave 4 to cleanliness of the room for a bit of dust in there. Location in about 7 minutes walk from the downtown - not perfect, but still good enough for city walks. We booked this hotel via the "blind booking" and thought we got a good deal. It turned out however that breakfast was not included in the rate (quite surprising for a hotel with that star rating to get a room with no breakfast). At the hotel reception they asked for over twenty euro per person for breakfast! Otherwise - nothing to complain, but that breakfast thing we did not like.

“Good value for money”

The room was clean and comfortable. We stayed only two nights on a room-only basis, so I can't comment on the food or facilities. This was booked as a secret hotel on Expedia, so was excellent value for money. The only things that stop me giving the hotel five stars are the traffic noise, which is significant, and the housekeeping – it looked as though the housekeeper had been called away suddenly while making up our room, as the wardrobe door to the minibar was left wide open, the bathroom bin was left in the middle of the floor and an empty wine glass was left in the room.

“Better for business...”

Stayed there with child while wife was on business. Very good English skills. Restaurant expensive but not bad. Room was large with decent view, and child's bed. bathroom floor was heated to a sweaty degree, but maybe that is a Finnish thing. Pool and gym large and well equipped. Went swimming with my child, whose water play irritated some elderly Finns, but what can you do? Biggest drawback? 20 minute hike to downtown, and the surrounding neighbourhood offers little in the way of food/entertainment. Park across the street is a bonus.

“Quiet and convient hotel”

If all you need in your hotel is a nice bed, quiet surroundings and a restaurant that has decent food when going out just isn't in the cards, then the Crowne Plaza in Helsinki will fit perfect. I liked that it wasn't in the middle of the constant public transportation hubs but was within a 5-10 minute walk. The hotel is quiet and kept clean; the restaurant was descent. the only drawback I had was that the spa closed earlier on Friday, and I'd have preferred it be open later.

“Not central”

Although the hotel is not central good public transport is close. Tip is to get all day pass and ride the trams for site seeing, some routes do circular trips which provide an entertaining afternoon. TV's need upgrading ours was faulty on arrival but was replaced very quickly after report. I left a jacket in room on departure and sent amail from England to see if it was found,on arrival back in Australia I had an email awaiting to inform me that jacket was found and to provide address so the parcel could be sent. Very much appreciated.

Hotel was well placed for the bus from the airport which stopped right outside. Airport to hotel in 30 minutes. Hotel was clean, well maintained to a good standard with polite and helpful staff. Restaurant was quite good but would like to have seen better vegetarian options.
