“good”
Very good breakfast!
“Quiet and convient hotel”
If all you need in your hotel is a nice bed, quiet surroundings and a restaurant that has decent food when going out just isn't in the cards, then the Crowne Plaza in Helsinki will fit perfect. I liked that it wasn't in the middle of the constant public transportation hubs but was within a 5-10 minute walk. The hotel is quiet and kept clean; the restaurant was descent. the only drawback I had was that the spa closed earlier on Friday, and I'd have preferred it be open later.
“not for kids”
This hotel was disappointing. It was beyond walking-distance for a six-year-old, was a bit shabby, and the sculpture outside, while interesting, is a giant windchime. It hummed and wailed all night long. The gym and sauna were nice, but not child-friendly. The pool was cold. There is a child's play area, but no one at the front desk knew when it was open. (They thought it was always open. It isn't.) There was a hot chocolate spill in the hallway outside our room (on tile) that wasn't cleaned up the remaining three days of our stay. We asked the front desk for an attraction children would enjoy, and were sent to the aquarium. Unfortunately, the directions they gave us via tram were wrong and the directions for walking were along a major highway. We didn't go. And we left Helsinki early. We won't be back.
“No jewel in the Crowne Plaza family”
Located about 1.5 miles from city center, good public transport.Hotel has undergone overhaul, but what's missing are the small things.Stayed in a Standard room for two nights. Our towels hadn't been changed, big bathroom-poor lighting.Comfortable bed, soft bedsheats.Printer didn't work when we checked out, couldn't get an overview of our expenses.
