"Budget hotel in natural setting close to Helsinki"
I loved this hotel, which was comfortable and in a lovely wooded setting on a small lake and a short walk to a large water park. I got a great price on Expedia so I didn't mind the long bus ride to Helsinki's city center (though it's better to have a rental car if you stay here). The staff were friendly and professional and the hotel has a GREAT restaurant. I was surprised by how good my meal was (I ordered the 3 course chef's special) and the price was reasonable. There is also a small deli next to the reception area which has a variety of very good foods and beverages and I believe it's open 24/7. The free breakfast each morning was outstanding and the free internet usually worked very well. So, overall this was a great choice and I plan to stay here when I'm in Helsinki.

This is the perfect retreat for anyone looking to find peace for self or loved ones. Stylish but unpretentious, the hotel feels like a family-run business but has the standards of a large hotel. It's difficult to loose yourself in Helsinki, but this hotel helps: a great escape. I visited on a business trip, but would happily re-visit with partner and/or family.

I chose this hotel based on closeness to the city without having to pay city centre prices. It has a lovely peaceful location on a wooded peninsula. Initially I wasn't sure that I had found the right building as the signs referred to a Finnish Swedish Cultural Centre which indeed it is, set up as a hotel and conference centre. I travelled there by bus from Kamppi bus station in Helsinki which takes less than 10 minutes along the motorway heading west towards Espoo. The stop for Hanasaari can be a little hard to spot for a first time visitor so it is worth asking the bus driver to point it out.
