Interesting jail hotelPosted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Decent sized room
Cons: The Air Conditioning seemed a bit mild
Location: Take the tram into town which passes several Helsinki landmarks including the Esplanade and Market Square
A very interesting stay in a former jail. The room and bathroom were of a decent size. The wifi is poor inside the rooms due to the thickness of the door we were told, however it works if you just step outside of your room. Breakfast items are available by reception if you are due to leave before Breakfast is scheduled to start. The front of house were very helpful with directions and restaurant recommendations.

A superior room turned out to be an inferior onePosted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: The breakfast is outstanding: great variety and excellent food quality.
Cons: The bathroom sink and the shower box could be cleaner.
Location: It is situated in the Design District, many stores and restaurants around. Near tram and bus stops. In short, excellent location.
Nice hotel in Helsinki, very trendy and extremely well located. When I reserved a room in this hotel, I chose one of the "superior rooms," which turned out to be a "service room", since at all times we could see one, two or three containers of stacked towels and drapes right beside our room door. Not a pleasant view. Also, there is no separation between the shower box and the rest of the bathroom at the ground level, so that when you shower you spread water all over the bathroom. They do provide a squeegee for you to rake in the water, but that is really a poor solution.

MatchboxPosted Jun 28, 2014
Pros: Location, location, location.
Location: Tons of bars and restaurants. Centrally located. But then Helsinki isn't that big.
We had a standard room which we found quite small. Anyone traveling in Europe knows that rooms are smaller in general. But here we felt we were cooped up in a match box. Bathroom was small too. We has hardly any space for our two checked in bags and our two carry ons.

Great service from the hotel staff, but the overall condition of the hotel is a bit shabby. Note that the showers are in a glass box, so if you are sharing a room, be prepared for all to be seen.

A great hotel centrally locatedPosted Jun 6, 2014 on Hotels.com
This hotel is very close to the railway station but on a side street making it very quiet. A delightful older hotel with large rooms and high ceilings but in a very good state of repair.Excelent breakfast.

Great hotel, with a great staff and viewPosted May 23, 2014 on Hotels.com
The location is perfect, one Finnair City Bus ride from the Airport and you're 2 short blocks from the Torni. My room was on floor 9, and I had a wonderful view of one quarter of the city. If you want a city view be sure to get a high room. Oh, and be sure to go to the top floor bar for the best view in the city. The room was the usual European efficient layout, although much bigger than some, and I enjoyed the design. The staff was very friendly, and helpful.

Short stay for leisurePosted Apr 29, 2014
Pros: Overall experience good and location great.
Location: It is very central so all the big shops, bus station, railway station and tourist attractions very easy to reach.
This was my second time at Torni and it did not disappoint. Room was clean and was what I expected. Staff very nice and I also managed to get to my room early instead of leaving my luggage to storage until the usual check-in time. Great bartender up in Ateljee bar. Breakfast buffet very good.

Stylish city centre hotelPosted Mar 26, 2014
Pros: The Style
Cons: Front entrance doors difficult with cases
Location: Close to railway station and market
Great inner city position with stupendous views if you get a room in the tower. We were on the 10th floor in a contemporary room in white silver and brilliant red. Helpful staff, good breakfast and a sense of staying in an iconic building in the city of Helsinki.

Great hotel close to all you could wish to seePosted Jan 31, 2014
Pros: Location, cleanliness and breakfast
Cons: Cost of drinks in the hotel, as with the rest of Helsinki is very high
Location: Walking distance from everything in central Helsinki and the city has an excellent tram/bus service for the outlying sites eg the Olympic stadium
Excellent hotel only a few minutes from the central bus/railway station where the 6 Euro Finnair bus drops off from the airport. Excellent breakfast. Room was very clean and pleasant. Ideal location for a city break in Helsinki and day trips to surrounding area. Staff very helpful.
