Interesting jail hotelPosted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Decent sized room
Cons: The Air Conditioning seemed a bit mild
Location: Take the tram into town which passes several Helsinki landmarks including the Esplanade and Market Square
A very interesting stay in a former jail. The room and bathroom were of a decent size. The wifi is poor inside the rooms due to the thickness of the door we were told, however it works if you just step outside of your room. Breakfast items are available by reception if you are due to leave before Breakfast is scheduled to start. The front of house were very helpful with directions and restaurant recommendations.

A superior room turned out to be an inferior onePosted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: The breakfast is outstanding: great variety and excellent food quality.
Cons: The bathroom sink and the shower box could be cleaner.
Location: It is situated in the Design District, many stores and restaurants around. Near tram and bus stops. In short, excellent location.
Nice hotel in Helsinki, very trendy and extremely well located. When I reserved a room in this hotel, I chose one of the "superior rooms," which turned out to be a "service room", since at all times we could see one, two or three containers of stacked towels and drapes right beside our room door. Not a pleasant view. Also, there is no separation between the shower box and the rest of the bathroom at the ground level, so that when you shower you spread water all over the bathroom. They do provide a squeegee for you to rake in the water, but that is really a poor solution.

sokos torniPosted Jul 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
it is a bit away from railway station, and could be confused with another sokos on the way that is closer to the station. the pictures look better than the real facility but I got used to it and then started appreciating its nice modern design. definitely not the top notch hotel but worth for the price they offer. breakfast is fine, too.

Lovely stayPosted Jul 15, 2014 on Hotels.com
I stayed at hotel Torni for one night prior continuing my journey in Finland. The location of the hotel is very good for exploring the city centre and has good access to central rail station. The hotel room was very clean and well equipped. I had a choise between jugend or art deco style room. I stayed at art deco style decorated single room, which had very comfy bed. The buffet breakfast had plenty of choice. I'd happily recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great stayPosted Jul 11, 2014 on Hotels.com
We had a very nice time - spent two days in Old Town. The walk was a little over a mile from the hotel - not too bad. There was a bus stop close to the hotel but we didn't use it. The hotel staff was very friendly - room was very comfortable - breakfast was great.

A fantastic option for HelsinkiPosted Jul 5, 2014 on Hotels.com
Great location in the center of the city! The major attractions are within walking distance and it's conveniently just off the "beaten path" so it's quiet. I would recommend this hotel to people on leisure or business trips!

MatchboxPosted Jun 28, 2014
Pros: Location, location, location.
Location: Tons of bars and restaurants. Centrally located. But then Helsinki isn't that big.
We had a standard room which we found quite small. Anyone traveling in Europe knows that rooms are smaller in general. But here we felt we were cooped up in a match box. Bathroom was small too. We has hardly any space for our two checked in bags and our two carry ons.

Great service from the hotel staff, but the overall condition of the hotel is a bit shabby. Note that the showers are in a glass box, so if you are sharing a room, be prepared for all to be seen.

A great hotel centrally locatedPosted Jun 6, 2014 on Hotels.com
This hotel is very close to the railway station but on a side street making it very quiet. A delightful older hotel with large rooms and high ceilings but in a very good state of repair.Excelent breakfast.
