relaxed hotel in nice gardensPosted Oct 14, 2013
Pros: Staff Gardens Peace and quiet
Cons: Some people found the beds a bit hard but they didn't bother us.
Location: We hired a car. Visited Knossos and Heraklion. Also went to Spinalonga (as in The Island), Vau beach and the plateau inland. Excursions available.
We had a great break at Galaxy Villas in late Sept/early October. Dimitri couldn't have been more helpful. There was a slight misunderstanding about what we had booked but he arranged an upgrade for us into a larger apartment which suited us beautifully. We had a lovely sea view. The apartments are simply furnished but had everything you needed. Before we moved the shower in our first villa was rather small. However our new villa had 2 bathrooms and was generally more spacious. The villas are arranged to afford privacy to each unit. There was a nice pool with free sun loungers. You do need to take your own pool towels - cheap ones available at the supermarket across the road. The supermarket offered essentials but not a great range. Again more choice was available in Hersonissos as well as better prices Koutouloufari has an excellent range of eating places within very easy walking distance. There was no night life in terms of clubs etc so this probably wouldn't suit the young. However Hersonnisos (approx 25 mins walk) offered a wider range of shops and night life if needed However it was much more crowded even at the end of the season. We really liked the village and found everyone very helpful and friendly. Our favourite eating places were The Alchemist (thanks for the free Raki when we left) and the Dutch cafe (great apple pie and pancakes)

Lovely hotelPosted Sep 5, 2013
Pros: Location in Koutoulafari, opposite a lovely bakery/supermarket and 2 mins walk to bars and restuarants.
Cons: Decorate rooms, repair any broken furniture
Location: As above, can't beat it. Beautiful village, lovely people.
Great staff, brilliant location. We were lucky enough to have the apartment closest to the pool which was wonderful. Apartment typically greek, fairly basic, stone floors but comfy beds. TV doesnt work, but who wants to watch tv on holiday!

One of the worst hotel we had in GreecePosted Aug 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
No parking available. I was asked to park my car in a field nearby but it was really complicated to get in and it was full anyway. I ended up parking my car about two streets away from the hotel. Too many stairways to get to our room, which was a nightmare with heavy luggages. The beds are really not comfortable (too hard and thin). The pool is great though. The breakfast was good. The hotel was very hard to find (a good thing I had a GPS).

Lovely admosphere and great place to stay :-)Posted May 11, 2013
I felt welcome from the minute I walked in till the moment I left. Both George and Thomas was really friendly and helpful with everything i needed. My room was amazing with a sea view and in a very quite part of the villas, which I really enjoyed, sound of birds in the morning and enjoying a cup of coffee watching the sunrise was beautiful. My room was clean, spacious and well looked after and I cannot fault it at all. The swimming area, bar and reception had a stunning view and the admosphere was great. Breakfast was also good and on the two days that I had to leave early to go for excursions a breakfast pack was given to take with me. Koutouloufari is a beautiful village with lots of restaurants and shops and close to the beach and local busses, just a 10 - 15 minute walk and everyone was so friendly. It was also a bonus that I was able to experience a Greek Easter on my last night at the villas. I loved my stay and will definately return to Galaxy Villas and will recommend it to all my friends and family :-)

Quiet villa in a small village..Posted Apr 9, 2013
Ideal location if you enjoy being away from the beach. The hotel is about 30 km away from the airport, so if taking a taxi, it will be around 35 euro to the hotel. We enjoyed the area around the hotel. Sports bar right next door and some good places to eat down the road. The bed was the only downfall to this hotel. It was extremely hard and uncomfortable. George made our stay enjoyable and very helpful with planning things to do. Breakfast was a nice spread of Greek culinary.

Pros: Staff, view, atmosphere
Cons: beds were not very comfortable
Location: PERFECT. Private but close to the many restaurants and shops in Koutouloufari.
Couldn't have asked for a better experience at Galaxy Villas. George is simply fantastic! He goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable! The view is fantastic! Will certainly stay in Galaxy again when I return.

Even better than the photographs!Posted Aug 30, 2011 on Hotels.com
This is a beautiful group of villas. The people who run the apartments are very friendly and helpful, the pool super clean and never crowded. The views are idyllic, of the sea through palms and trees, The standard apartments have no sea view, but the landscaping around the is lovely, palms, cactus and bougainvillea. It is worth paying extra for the superior apartments - sea view for breakfast and evenings is gorgeous! The apartments are clean and simple, Beds are slightly hard. Plenty of room for a family of 4 ( 2 teenagers) The cooker is small and has a small oven, and one tiny ring and one medium - good for cooking pasta and a sauce! Right across the road is a great bakery and supermarket, which has every basic necessity you need . There are lovely restaurants all the way along the road by the villas. In the villa reception there is a nice bar by the pool that serves simple food. It is 15 minutes down to star beach, which is busy and had big surf, great to play in, but the waves further out are fierce. The walk back up to the villas can be a bit of a slog up hill in the heat. but isn't far. I would come back here any time!

Terrible Location!Posted Aug 26, 2011 on Hotels.com
Rooms were a nightmare to get to. Very confusing set up! Extremely hot and had the nerve to charge extra for A/C. Couldn't open the windows for any kind of breeze due to the many insect bites you will incur! Looked at the wall in the middle of the night and had to kill a beetle/roach 3inches long! Beds and pillows were so hard that I woke up with one of the worse back aches of my life. Would never stay or recommend this hotel.
