Hotel was lovely, great standard of food. However, Wi-Fi was non-existent. We were also put into a smaller room because there was only two of us, yet we had paid for a larger room. Also made us checkout early.

We just finished a week-long stay with our two children at Star Beach. Overall, we had a great time. Pros: the housekeeping and food options are great. The Dionyssus pool and snack bar was very fun and the kids loved swimming there all day! Excellent location to the beach as well. The entertainment staff were very friendly and we enjoyed the magic show. Cons: This resort is going through a bit of an identity crisis. While it is very family-friendly, twice a week very loud rave music is played until 12am in the "VIP area" which seems to be catering to the 20-something crowd. There is also no information provided in the room regarding how to call reception, what the restaurants feature, map of the resort, etc.

Friendly staff, good food, though beach VIP music very loud and unavoidable, made getting kids to nap difficult. Misleading info on specialty restaurants, some places indicated à la carte, but were also buffet.

Very noisy and disappointing! Water park belonging to the hotel (reason for me booking this hotel in the first place), is not available as of 14h30, when the party with the drunk, young adult crowd from all over town (not the hotel guests), begins! Daily 'Tomorrow land' next door, has nothing to do with family friendly rest, hotel claims to provide. I understand, that the hotel wants the multiple source of income, but in my view it cheating the hotel guests that, don't come there to party....

The service was terrible!!! Staff in the reception and manager was very rude and impolite. Was a terrible experience , especially after paying so much money for a vacation in Greece . I would not recommend this place to anyone. Was very unfortunate experience.

I booked this hotel because of its reviews. I booked the hotel for four nights and checked out after one day. The hotel is old, our AC wasn’t working, and it was about 90 degrees outside; my parents booked an economy room which means that it’s a building across the street. The service of the reception ladies was awful; they didn’t even try to help or switch us rooms even though I offered to pay for it. We then moved to Lyttos Mare, and WOW. It was a fantastic experience.

The property is beautiful and well maintained. Hotel room is spacious and comfortable. The food is delicious, fresh and different every day. There are plenty of space in pool and beach areas. Hotel is very good for families with kids as well for adults.

We have booked Star beach hotel with you and when we arrived and were able to tour the hotel before check in and we immediately tried to cancel. We reached out to Expedia and you have contacted the hotel to find a resolution and see if we could possible cancel the hotel reservation. The hotel did not allow us to cancel so, the representative from Expedia made notes in our reservation and informed us to start a complaint after our visit at the hotel was completed. The following complaints were brought to the receptionist attention and the manager did not want to speak to us: 1. The internet does not work at all 2. Only 3 areas of the hotel are all inclusive areas and there are only specific drinks included. 3. No hygiene rules during Covid- e.g common reception area: no hotel guests were wearing a mask, bar keeper is wearing the mask under the nose and people are able to get ice cream themselves not wearing a mask or gloves (I can send pictures of all instances if requested) 4. Lounge chairs at the adult area cost 100 euros and cabanas 500 euros and no other chairs were offered. We had to use the chairs at the kids pool! 5. We have asked the manager to come and speak to us so, we could explain the situation and he refused to come and speak to us 6. The reception had attitude with us and did not offer any compensation

Perfect place for families
We were a family of 19, including three generations. Overall our stay was great. There are several swimming pools, fit for all ages. The waterpark is great, no lines, the beach is very nice too. The selection of food is very nice and fit all ages. There are a few things that could make it even better. 1. We asked several times in advance to be put together or at least close to each other. When we arrived it turned out that we are in different buildings, far from each other. 2. The safety in the water park area should be improved. This place is perfect for families.

I came to visit over the 4th of July weekend. Let me break this down for you: (1) STAFF: Front desk staff are awesome from the moment we got there. This is a very busy place with high volume of turn over but, they still find the time to give you that personal touch which is something you don't often get here. They sent a young man out to my truck with a golf cart to help me with my bags and take me to my room so I didn't have to carry my bags and walk. The security and quality control staff are great (2) FOOD: Is great and better than I expected. The executive Chef is all over the place. I saw him at every restaurant location. The food is fresh, tasty and plentiful. The Asian Restaurant was off the rails good! Unbelievable! Fresh, clean and friendly staff. Be advised, you need to book your reservation a day in advance. I don't think that fair for those people that are staying one night might not get a chance to eat there. If you get the chance, its the best! The other buffets are very good as well. (3) ROOMS: OMG! The beds are so soft and the sleep you will get is amazing! I get up early and believe me, I wanted to sleep in. The rooms are clean and the AC works well too. We stayed in the 7000 series building down past all the after hours partying. The turn over at the hotel is crazy so one might expect something to be dropped but, every was clean. (4) POOL: are great, the activities are a lot however, after 4pm, the party starts and run through Midnight.

Great for kids, but can get noisy in party areas!
Amazing facilities for children.. they will be in the waterparks / pools all day! The resort itself is quite large, so plenty to walk! Sandy beach has plenty of sunbeds and lovely clean water that is not too deep. Great rooms, recently refurbished and a lovely sea view that we opted for, but we had to climb 3 storeys everyday with a stroller!! The numerous buildings with rooms have no lifts! If you have a stroller, maybe book a ground floor room with terrace. Great breakfast at the main restaurant. Other meals were ok for a short stay, but a week would be difficult. They have an additional 2 restaurants on the all inc program.. both of which were good, but Asian Star very good. Just beware vegetarian options are extremely limited outside the buffet restaurant, and the veg or vegan at the buffet can be a little bland. If you are on a b&b trip, there are a couple of decent options for lunch or dinner on site, and many restaurants on the nearby on the main strip of the town. A big downside was the number of 18yr olds that were there that week to party. Consuming alcohol all day and night and making a fair amount of noise! Impossible to get to the lobby bar as the groups of kids monopolised facilities.. I felt sorry for the lone barman that had to cope with this! The all inclusive drinks were cheap and nasty, better off with just the beer in my opinion. The hotel does facilitate noise & party goers, there is a daily foam party, but its all fun!!

Good experience at discounted prices
Seemed fine for all inclusive experience. The main restaurant meals are constantly refreshed from one night to the next with good options for most diet styles. Only one type of beer was available at the bars, and the pools are definitely designed with little people in mind. Great for a family experience. The reservation was kind enough to upgrade me to a room with a full-size bed, which seems to be a luxury item in Crete. Don't automatically expect that you're going to get one since that's what the room description lists.
