Hotel very well situated.

Posted May 4, 2015
Pros: The situation of the hotel in the town, and the faded grandeur of the place!!
Cons: Hot breakfasts should be HOT, and toilet bowls should be spotless.
Only stayed one night. Staff very nice, and the room was nice, but the hangings rouond the bed were half off the rail, and I had to stand on the bed and fix them up. The actual fixings to the rail were non-existent, but I managed to put the hooks round the rail itself. The toilet bowl was dirty, and the bathroom shelf had had something spilled on it and not wiped up. The cooked breakfast looked very nice but hubby said it was cold, and the plates were cold. My cereal and fruit were ok. Would go again, but would complain about things if I stayed more than one night.

Excellent location for visiting Hereford

Posted Sep 1, 2013
Pros: The hotel was very interesting with some fascinating period pieces, i.e. servants bells in the landings and the lounge was wonderful.
Cons: Some superficial interior decoration
Location: The hotel was central and was a few minutes away from the cathedral where we saw the chained library the mappa mundai and the magna carta.
Staff were most welcoming and we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

A Hereford Experience

Posted Aug 13, 2010
The Green Dragon is ideally situated, close to many places of interrest and very pleasant walks..The hotel has clearly seen better days and has an old world feel about it. The rooms are very spacious and on the third floor the floor boards are impressively noisy. The television was an original and small, but more manageable when a remote control was found. Surprisingly on our floor the seagulls were very vocal at night and particularly on a hot evening with open windows. The breakfast was a very good start to the day and compensated for the seagull activity overnight. The staff were generally helpful ,particularly at reception. It was a great pleasure to be in such a pleasant part of Hereford immediately on leaving the Hotel. My wfe and I enjoyed our stay at the Hotel and would recommend the Green Dragon to our friends as a quaint ,very well placed and convenient place to stay at reasonable rates. We hope to stay again when we next return to England from abroad.
