Great location. Quick walk to all the restaurants.Posted Oct 21, 2014
Pros: Location and breakfast!
Cons: The rooms do have a tired feeling about them. I would change the lighting in the bathroom and put door handles on the doors. The TV reception was poor
Location: Great location overlooking the sea with olphins and whales com very close to the shore.
2 night stay. Room cleaned and beds made beautifully each day. Staff very warm and friendly. Great breakfasts. Delicious . Room had a slight musty smell and the bathroom lighting was very poor- energy saving bulbs took ages to warm up! Could benefit from door handles on bathroom and room door. Better lighting needed in pool room. My son loved this room. Free easy parking. Overall very good value.

Old style hotel with amazing views of the sea.Posted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: Location and views. Oh and the log fire as it was the end of winter/beginning of spring :)
Cons: Lock the door to the pool table so youths cannot start playing at 6 o'clock in the morning. Didn't effect us but I'm sure some would complain
Location: Amazing ! Whales so close to shore and the hotel is central to the town
We just needed an overnight stay in Hermanus and this did not disappoint. The location was amazing as can be verified by my wife and youngest whilst me and the eldest went shark diving. Although we were up too early for breakfast the other two said it was great! Would I stay there again? Yes.

Quaint hotel with great atmospherePosted Jul 10, 2014
Pros: View was spectacular from our room and it was close to shops, markets and restaurants
Location: Lemon Butta restaurant has great sushi. Markets are fabulous.
Windsor Hotel was recommended by residents of Cape Town. We took a chance on their recommendation and was glad we did. Was a lovely hotel with a great view and close to everything. Would recommend this to anyone. Strongly suggest ocean view rooms.

Best hotel to sit and watch the sea.Posted Apr 23, 2014
Pros: I love its historical story, its ambiance and cleanliness. Staff are very friendly and welcoming.
Cons: Bathrooms could be updated in future, but for now they are functional, basic and CLEAN.
Location: This hotel is perfect for watching the sea if you are lucky to get a sea view room. It is the best spot for seeing whales when in season.
Hotel was quiet, staff friendly and helpful. Even when not many guests were booked they still handled us courteously and friendly. Lovely value for money breakfast sets you up for the day of sight seeing or swimming... even lining the stomach for wine tasting nearby! Will go back and recommend to others time and time again!

Just what we wanted, wonderful views of the sea and the sound of the waves. Clean comfortable room and in a wonderful location. Friendly helpful staff - special thank you to Brigitte for assisting us with a problem. If you stay at the Windsor you really must try and get one of the rooms on the front, preferably with a balcony and seating area. Good breakfast buffet in a room "with a view". This hotel must be wonderful when the whales are basking. This is one of the oldest hotels in Hermanus and is quaint and nice. Our suggestion would be new towels and linen. If you are looking for fancy mod cons this may not be for you but if the location is your number one priority than this hotel ticks the box. Good parking facilities. Short stroll along the waterfront cliff walk to some excellent restaurants and bars. Good selection little shops. Hermanus is certainly a very nice place to stop - we loved it.
The location is excellent and close to the beach.Posted Dec 10, 2013
Except the location the hotel is a low grade.

Fourth visit in 17 years !Posted Dec 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
If you want to see whales from the dry comfort of your own room, then this Old Lady of an hotel is perfect. Apart from the projectors etc that enabled us to see big screen rugby, the place has hardly changed since our first visit in 1996. Yes it's a bit faded, creaking and in need of some modernisation, but it does the job it sets out to do and at an extremely good value 3Star price. Would not hesitate to stay here again if the need arises."
