Nice property but could make some improvementsPosted Sep 19, 2014
Pros: The breakfast buffet was very nice.
Cons: Outside upkeep.
Location: We stayed here because of the proximity to Mesa Verde National Park and Durango.
People who stay in the Mesa Verde Suite should be told that the bathroom is on the main floor and the bedroom is upstairs. The property needs lawn upkeep - overgrown (messy walking to our door entrance). The Chef (Brazilian woman) is the gem at this property. The rest of the staff needs to be more personable. The mattress was a little soft for our taste.

Beautiful place to stayPosted Jul 20, 2014
The most peaceful place to stay. A beautiful placens to escape from the everyday hustle and bustle. Staff and especially kitchen are especially helpful in making sure you are taken care of. The main chef, a very kind lady, made a special early breakfast for us so we would not miss breakfast for a long hike we were going on for the day.

Outstanding diamond in the rough countryPosted May 31, 2014 on Hotels.com
This place really defies categorizing. Its not a hotel or a quaint bed and breakfast. Its like a Santa Fe sttle ranch house you call your own for a few days. The breakfast was excellent the Lake View we stayed in was really veautiful. We went as a family of four and the accomodations were more than enough for is. The grounds were beautifully manicured and we wi be coming back. The whole place was very romantic.

Very nice people. Suggest visitors get directions from hotel. Difficult to find on your own even with gps due to poor signal area around Durango

Great Hidden B & BPosted May 9, 2014
Pros: The ambience as well as the grounds are exceptional. The staff went out of its way to make us welcome.
Cons: I have had better breakfasts but they are varied and should satisfy most people. The signage at the front is hard to find.
Location: Very rural. Overlooks a stocked pond. Mesa Verde, Aztec Ruins and Durango are nearby. There is a great restaurant (Kennebec) in nearby Hesperus.
I found this nice B & B on line while exploring lodging near Mesa Verde. It is well worth the money. The grounds are beautiful, the bedroom well furnished and the staff exceptionally friendly. My husband was quite concerned about staying at a B & B as his only experience was staying in someone's extra bedroom. However, this inn has several options including rooms in the main house as well as two other buildings (the owners live elsewhere). It is a little hard to find so you need to contact them before you get there so that you don't wander too much. It is definitely out of the way but about 45" away from Aztec ruins and quite close to Mesa Verde. We will be back!
