Great location with easy motorway access. Not much locally but a short taxi into town is easy to arrange. Building itself needs alittle TLC - various things broken - only small things but just needs alittle investment to put right.

Breakfast was nice, staff attentive to all customers on their arrival into dining room. Room was good for price, tv, hairdryer and kettle in room. Bar area nice and well stocked. Nice hotel for cost

Night 1: Room was dusty and dirty carpet and dirty towel in bathroom on check-in! Night2: power outage in my room and one other but rest hotel ok. Staff struggled to locate tripswitches but eventually did an hour later. Radiator suddenly came on full during night and couldn’t turn down as thermostats had broken off (evidence had been broke before but stuck back on!)! Had to open window to cool room but at 0140hr the traffic noise was too much and I had close it but then couldn’t sleep due to heat and became slightly dehydrated! Night 3: came in from work and heating not fixed no one looked at it as broken thermostat still in sane place it was left and room was boiling hot! Then found cleaning sprays and cloths left on top of toilet! Asked duty manager for a change of room but they didn’t understand why and I had to insist on a move!…got a cooler room but shower just dribbled!…slept better though! Night 4: no additional issues. Check out: asked for invoice for food and drink but got given one for the room booking only! I had to just leave! Won’t be staying here again!

Booked the hotel for an anniversary, brought back fond memories. Rooms clean and tidy, restaurant was clean and food good. Not really anything to do at the hotel but wasn’t there for that. Happy with the stay and would stay again

Good easy access close to motorway. Plenty of parking. Friendly helpful staff. Bedroom quite basic, small bathroom with shower. Beds not very comfortable. Walls thin - could hear loud conversation and television from rooms either side. Breakfast cooked fresh to order and was good quality and hot. Not a lot of choice of cold items - only one type of fruit juice, two breakfast cereals, a few fresh fruits, but a good selection of yoghurts.

For the price paid a perfectly functional hotel. But out of the way if you don't drive. However local taxis are reasonable. Cooked breakfast was very good with excellent quality ingredients.

Highly Recommend
Me & my Husband stayed here when going to a concert in Manchester, Amazing service, great value for money very friendly & helpful staff. Clean & fresh, rooms perfect size with a lovely view of the fountain. Breakfast was also very very good, would highly recommend and will definatley stay here again if we visit the area in the future.

The bedding on the top was dirty. Like someone lied down there with a dirty shoes on!The shower has one missing door so you cannot close the cabin! The other half glass is falling out! Smell of oil paint from the painted furniture!

Wonderful friendly staff
Very friendly staff. Very welcoming. Had events and Christmas parties going and we were welcomed. Wonderful people. The hotel room was clean, comfortable beds. Wish there were microwaves in the rooms but the staff were very helpful when we needed to warm up our food. Outside the hotel was clean, with a nice water fountain! Will definitely stay there again.

The Birch Hotel
A nice small hotel which was easy to find and was very good value for money. Wifi in the room wasn't great but i managed to do what i needed despite losing connections. The restaurant was standard and the quality of the food was good. I would stay again.

Lovely small hotel
Whilst working in Bolton I have been staying in this lovely small hotel with great staff. The hotel is very close to motorways and great value for money.
