Hickory Inn

Posted Oct 22, 2013 on Hotels.com
The best choice for business travel in the area that I have found. The sterile alternatives of Hampton Inn, etc., pale in comparison to a relaxing Inn like this one. Breakfast is so much better than the rubber eggs and bacon like substances they serve at the chain hotels. Chaz is a great host. Excellent dining at Josh's in Hickory is a pleasant walking distance away.

Pros: Breakfast was delicious!
Chaz, Inn owner was/is fantastic! Very helpful and accommodating. Warm, friendly atmosphere, quiet, clean, and the food was AMAZING! Definitely would stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the Hickory area.

Good couples getaway

Pros: Quiet, out of the way, yet close to town and furniture malls. Great breakfast.
Cons: Room was really small
Location: If you can't find the furniture you are looking for in Hickory, you may never find it!
Satisfactory room - small but with private bath. No TV in room, but there was one in the common area downstairs. Chaz, the proprietor, was most helpful in directing us to the furniture malls (the reason for our visit) and to places to eat. He made a fantastic breakfast!!! Not sure the Inn would work well for families with children.

much better option than all the chain hotels!

Positives: nice setting and accommodation... you choose your breakfast and time, which is unusual - all very good. Chaz is a perfect host! Bed very comfortable and nice linens. Only 2 slight negatives: 1) our upstairs room had a window a/c unit - kept very cool, just not used to the noise! 2) our 'private' bath was across the hall ("Baker" room), which we hadn't realized. Bath was very nice, but a little odd to have to go across the hall.

Pleasant Experience

We were on a business trip and enjoyed our stay at The Inn At Hickory. The charm of the home and it's ambiance coupled with the owner's personable friendly manner to create a good memory. We will stay here again.

The Inn at Hickory

My daughter and I stayed here for a weekend. It was perfect for the two of us. It was like staying at home. It is close to Lenoir Rhyne University, where we had scheduled appointments. You must stay here if you are from out of town! Chad makes the best breakfast! We will stay here again!
