Great room, staff, food. Shame about the cleaningPosted Aug 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
Nice welcome and lovely room with a huge bed and shower. A lot of money has obviously been spent on the accommodation just a shame about the quality of cleaning, we found a large toenail clipping in the middle of the floor. Having said that the staff were great, the food of a high quality and the bed was enormous and comfortable.

Beautifully renovated 17th Century English Pub. Excellent menu featuring British and European cuisine. Dozen bears on tap that change daily. The full breakfast has everything you want. Situated in quiet area yet only two bus stops from a lovely village on the beach with heaps of op shops z d English delis. Local people come to eat and an occasional Entertainer drops in for a quiet drink . All rounder

Good service, but would have liked my invoice waiting for me in the morning, instead I have to wait and hope they post it to me.

Lively pub for all but bedrooms are quiet.Posted Jun 23, 2013
Pros: The local cider is fab - but powerful
Lovely clean & comfortable room, good choice of teas & also decaff coffee on tray. All of the staff we came into contact with were very friendly & welcoming. Will stay here again when we're in this area.

Great pub b&b, rooms, service and food all greatPosted Jun 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
We arrived about 10pm on a Friday night to a fairly busy pub and after a mix up with our rooms that was swiftly and competently sorted out, we were shown up to our room. The rooms are very modern and clearly have only recently fitted out. All fixtures, fittings and equipment (including a huge TV) were in great condition and no tatty edges on show. The bathroom was spacious with a powerful, hot, shower and the same quality fittings. The actual bedroom (number 7) itself was of a fair size, but not massive, but the bed was enormous, about enough for four people and was very comfortable. Our room overlooked the front door and we had no trouble sleeping, due in the most part to the quality ales and cider on draught. I counted 6 ales and 4 ciders, and ales changed about 4 times during our two night stay. The bar staff are very friendly and once the pub quietened down a bit we ended up sitting at the bar drinking with the locals who were very keen to get us northern folk into the local cider. Which we did. Breakfast the next day was from a choice of several options including full English, eggs Benedict, American style pancakes and so on, and was very good, no complaints at all. On the Saturday night we had dinner in the evening which was good value and very tasty, we couldn't stretch to desert so you can imagine the portion sizes. The pub also has a massive, free, carpark with ample amount of spaces so there's no trouble parking.

Excellent value, lovely people and great foodPosted May 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
I cant recommend it highly enough. Excellent service from all the staff who were all friendly and attentive without being over the top. Great food in the pub with a good range. My curry was really good quality and other meals looked equally good quality and all sensibly priced. Room was perfect with great bed and nice clean modern look. Decent TV and nice bathroom. Whilst being a great hotel it is clearly also the locals pub as it was full of people who the staff knew bay name and the rooms are far enough away from the pub that noise is not a problem and the location off the M5 (but far enough away) is great for all travellers. I would very happily stay here again. I was traveling for business but a couple could stay here for a weekend trip etc. Thanks.
