Hotel close to Poughkeepsie and KingstonPosted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: It was clean and quiet and a few minutes from Poughkeepsie and Kingston.
Cons: The air conditioning, packets for shampoo were hard to open, and they should supply a box of tissues.
Location: If you like walking, biking, boating, or fishing you are only a short distance from hiking biking trails and fishing or marina access.
We chose this hotel because it was one of the only hotels left in the Poughkeepsie and Kingston area that had a room available for the Labor Day weekend. The Expedia price was reasonable for the accommodations. It was also our first use of Expedia. The hotel appears to be a family run operation. The desk clerk who may have been the owner was courteous and very knowledgeable about the area and how to find places of interest and restaurants. Also the check in was very simple since it was prepaid by Expedia and he had all of our information. He did ask for a cell phone number in case he needed to contact us if we were not in the room. He gave us coupons good for a morning coffee and bagel in his attached restaurant. The room was clean but the air conditioner lacked good controls and the room became very warm to the point of being uncomfortable. But you can open the windows! Room had TV, microwave and fridge. All worked.

One night between concertsPosted Aug 24, 2014
Location: It is right on a hghway, but in the back of our windows were trees and bushes and flowers.
When we arrived, t wo things were wrong: the door lock did not work and the toilet seat was totally the wrong size. We mentioned it to the owner and by the time we returned later in the evening, both were fixed. We were VERY pleased. The owner was very personable as well as helpful in other matters. Not a fancy hotel, but a good clean place to spend a night or two.

No issuesPosted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: The hotel staff was extremely nice.
Cons: Hide the air fresheners better. It was on top of the table.
Location: We ate at the Gateway Diner. The only food I order at diner's are breakfast foods, that way I am never disappointed. The food was delicious.
I stayed there for one night and was very pleased with my stay. I reserved a queen room and the manager at the hotel upgraded my room to a king bed at no extra cost. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the hotel staff was extremely nice. I would book a room at this hotel again.

Close to the CIA and easy on pricePosted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: It was close to the Culinary Institute. There was a small restaurant that served breakfast right next door close enough to walk to.
Cons: There was a small glitch on the floor in room 105, the boards didn't quite meet. Other than that things were fine.
The room was fine and the bathroom was large. It also had a small refrigerator and small microwave if one was staying a few days.

i am very upset with expedia on this one.Posted Jun 9, 2014
this was advertised as the closest hotel to rhinebeck at 14 miles but it was 22. it was in a very low class area and the office was all dark and dirty with broken windows and curtains. the rooms were in an old broken down hotel but they were up dated- partially. very noisy fan that was connected to the light switch in the bath so you had to hear it when you turned on the light in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. the rug was stained and the comforter was old polyester with an old ball covered blanket as well. i want my money back

Cons: New carpet.
Location: Culinary Institute of America, Hudson River walking bridge, shopping mall.
The motel was old, and the carpet needed replacing in the room. We were on the second floor and the floor creeked when you walked across it. I don't think it deserved a room rate of $125 a nite. You were given a voucher for $3.50 towards a bagel, cream cheese, and a small coffee for breakfast at Bagel &Bits a restaurant in front of the motel.
