Nice overnight stayPosted Nov 12, 2013
Pros: Free Wireless and access into the room from inside and outside a fridge and coffee pot.
Cons: not much- the only thing we did not like is not anything that can be improved.
Atlas's decor is something out of the 1950's for Exterior looks; certainly a pleasing thing to find in Upstate NY considering all the fancier places to stay. It is no frills but does come with amenities like a fridge and coffee pot... vital items when traveling and staying someplace for more than a night or two. Queensize bed was comfortable and the couch in our room equally so. Free Wireless and access into the room from inside and outside is also a bonus. If there is a negative, the walls are a touch thin- which is also kinda 1950's... but in the grand scale of life, its a minor quibble.

Lower than minimum standardsPosted Oct 13, 2013
No hooks in bath, no mattress pad, no coat hangers in closet, a double sheet used on queen bed ( eg. did not cover ), green toothpaste residue left in sink, and cigarette burn holes in bedspread (in no smoking rm), no tissue box.

Family-friendly motel easy to get to from highwayPosted Oct 2, 2013
Pros: The couch and fridge in the room. Having 2 sinks was also a nice convenience.
Cons: Hot water. It fluctuated during my shower. The coffee table was also way too large for the room. It was inconvenient trying to get around it.
Location: A good area with Hyde Park not too far away. We only went to the Vanderbilt Mansion, but there appeared to be several parks nearby, plus shopping.
Loved the room and quietness. There was a swing outside, which we thoroughly enjoyed, as it was a beautiful night out. Bed was super comfortable and it was great having a fridge and microwave in the room. Would definitely stay there again.

One night stayPosted Sep 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
The room was clean but small. Air conditioner was noisy. I could have used ear plugs to sleep better. Basically it was just an inexpensive room to stop at on the way to my final destination. If anything it was priced right.

Convenient, attractive locarion -- great valuePosted Aug 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
An old school small motel. Very clean and well maintained. Friendly, helpful staff, but it took some time to reach them because we arrived at 8:30 pm. Some reviewers have commented on the need for updating. Our unit had new flooring in the hallway to the closet and bathroom, and the 1960s era tiles in the bathroom and shower were bright and apparently recently re-grouted. Although the decor was dated it was very clean and comfortable. Up to date wide screen TV and cable system and wifi. A great place to stay very close to the spectacular bridge across the Hudson to Poughkeepsie (walk or bike across).

Quaint Lodge in perfect locationPosted Aug 25, 2013
Pros: Warm and inviting staff members Great location with a cozy atmosphere Quaint and comfortable rooms
Location: Local markets featuring local venders of all kinds, there is always some kind of festival going on close by! Go Sightseeing!
The staff at the Atlas Motor Lodge was friendly and warm. They are inviting and added to the experience of driving to and through NY. I grew up in that area and I know it is a very scenic area. The Atlas Lodge is tucked away in one the best spots in an already beautiful area. To stay in a chain hotel never feels the same, the rooms were cozy and the staff was as close as picking up the phone at all times.
